2020-06-18 THE PILLARS OF THE MOSQUE

My memory card was almost full after many of the photos I took in the Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Abu Dhabi. On the way to the exit, I could still shoot this picture with the illuminated columns. For me, a great photo at the end of the visit.

2020-05-09  THE PLAZA OF THE MOSQUE

The Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Abu Dhabi was the most impressive mosque I had ever seen. The size, the styling, the art, and the impressions while walking around reminded me of a world wonder. The good thing, I was completely free to take photos. No hindrance.

2019-12-10  THE GREAT MOSQUE

Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Abu Dhabi is one of the most beautiful buildings I have ever seen. It’s sheer size, architecture, and construction is overwhelmingly impressive. Inside and outside, you can explore so many details and perspectives. You have to take care of your clothing and pull off your shoes in some places, and you are not allowed to cross the barriers, but you are entirely free to take photos. So I shot a lot. Since I was there in the later afternoon, I stayed there until the night. I could fully participate in the golden and the blue hour.

The first stop in Abu Dhabi was the Sheikh Zayek Grande Mosque. I wanted to capture additional details of this magnificent building in photos. Here I stood in front of one of the beautiful entrance gates wherein the background the buildings in the courtyard merged into a harmonious whole.

2019-01-05   WATER GAMES ON FIRE

Spectacular city of Dubai with spectacular water-shows in front of the Burj Khalifa. The lightning appears like water under fire. It starts at about 7 pm, I was in a hurry to get down with the speed lift from the Burj Khalifa. My wife stayed calm, but for me, it was essential to get some decent shots of the water parade.

2018-08-03   MOSQUE FROM THE INSIDE

For this photo, I took my wide angle lens, the Samyang (Rokinon) 14mm 2.8 AF E-Mount and my Sony A7S. This setup covered the panoramic roof, pillars, arcs, and ornaments of the Sheikh Zayed mosque in Abu Dhabi very well.

2018-07-12   INSIDE A MOSQUE IN ABU DHABI

It even impressed to watch the Sheikh Zayed Mosque from the inside. An artwork of gigantic proportions, a dream for shooting photos. There was no hindering, taking pictures, walking around, exploring, I think I was there for about 4 hours. I discovered the blue hour, the golden hour and the dimming of the night.

2018-07-08   DUBAI WATER SHOW

Since I was visiting the Burj Khalifa before, I was in a hurry to reach the water show at the right time. After entering the ground floor, you need an additional 20 minutes to get out of the tower and position at the best spots for your photo journey. In the end, it worked out on the minute, and I could place my desired photo shots.
