2020-09-02  LEAVING PALAIS FERSTEL

Before leaving Palais Ferstel, I could place my wife Karin’s shot with the contrast of the sunny outside road and the darker inside mood. Older buildings with differences are often the right choice for black and white photos. The scenery looks more coherent.

2020-08-31  STREET IN GENOVA

Genoa was pretty empty, only a few people on the streets. I was able to use our stay for many photos; this city has endless motifs.

2020-08-29  AMSTERDAM MUSEUM

In many museums, not only exhibitions are fascinating. You can often find exciting photo motifs in side rooms and staircases. The photo shows the Van Gogh Museum, where my son is just going down the stairs, and two Asian women are trying a photo session.

2020-08-28  NEAR THE SOPHIENSÄLE

I have never been to the Sophiensaal, an attraction for tourists in Vienna. I can offer a photo from the outside that represents typical old Vienna. Statue with a venerable rider behind it lofty buildings from the time of Maria Theresa.

2020-08-26  WALKING MAN IN GENOVA

For me, Genova is the most magnificent city in Italy. The big and high buildings with high walls, the gigantic windows, and massive wooden doors. That all combined with Italian architecture art built between high and low streets and alleys. The city is close to the sea, with a big harbor, Italy at its best.

2020-08-24  BUILDING IN SAVONA, ITALY

A nightly walk in the harbor area was a mixture of the older restaurants and alleys and the modern buildings, which brought us nearer to the Italian architecture of the current times.

2020-08-22  SWITZERLAND, THE CLASSIC LOOK

Swiss cheese, watches, and the mountains are the classic looks of Switzerland. Since my wife didn’t want to fly during these times, we took the seven-hour drive to Switzerland. In Klosters, I got a magnificent panoramic view of the mountains. The cool thing was the combination of the new Sony A7R IV and the old Leica Elmar 35-70 F4 lens, which I attached with an e-mount to Leica R adapter.

2020-08-19 MY SON WITH HIS GIRLFRIEND

My son is standing on the Dachstein Glacier and shooting a photo of his girlfriend, Vickie. It’s so easy and fast shooting photos with the iPhone. I wonder why the camera manufacturers cannot make a similar photo quality with the “Automatic” mode for faster shooting. Often the pictures of the professional cameras don’t do such a proper software correction OOC ( out of camera).

2020-08-17 RUNNING ON HOT STREETS

The cities are tough in the summer heat. But with commitment and willingness to exercise, you can defy even the hottest weather.

2020-08-14 THE DAM AT THE DANUBE

The protective dam was built in the floodplains along the Danube after the flood of the century. It stretches for tens of kilometers and has also been developed as a cycle path. A combination of the useful with the sporty.
