2017-09-30  OVER THE HILLS AND FAR AWAY

Hey lady, you got the love I need
Maybe more than enough
Oh darling, darling, darling
Walk a while with me
Ohh, you’ve got so much, so much, so much   © song by Led Zeppelin

2017-09-29  SHIP UNDER RAINBOW BRIDGE

I was the only photographer standing under Rainbow Bridge in Tokyo. The height and size of this bridge are unbelievable; it hosts car lanes and train lines, is built mostly from iron. The main span between the piers is 580m (2,618 ft).

2017-09-28  GOLF II

Driving with the golf caddy, eating bacon bread and drinking beer with lemonade at the eating stations, shooting photos and flying with the quadcopter. This was my schedule at the golf tournament in Adamstal, where I had my friend Christoph with me. He was responsible for the person shootings, and I took the landscape photos. 🙂

2017-09-27  SHOOTING THE TOWN HALL IN VIENNA

In the dusk, some minutes after the lighting of the city streets and buildings turned on; then it’s time to take out your gear and go for a photo tour. So did I with shooting the town hall (or Rathaus) in Vienna, which was built between 1872 and 1883 and gives an imposing example of Gothic architecture. It features five towers, and the Rathausmann (“town hall man“) statue was installed on the top and is one of the symbols of Vienna.

2017-09-26  ILLUMINATED PIECE OF ART

In Swarovski Crystal Worlds I was walking in that completely dark room, where only that illuminated artwork was hanging on the wall. I caught it with my Sony A7S, LA-EA4 adapter and Sony Zeiss 24mm F2 A-mount lens, which is one of the few cameras/setups, which can shoot this without a tripod in low light.  🙂

2017-09-25  LUSTER IN GENOVA

Walking along Le Strade Nuove let me going into every second building. I was shooting the great galleries and balconies of these unique buildings, where many are a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage. I saw that great festive hall which changed colors every 10 seconds on the first floor since the entry was forbidden and secured with a barrier, I was fast with the shooting to capture that great ceiling with those big chandeliers.

2017-09-24  ACTION AT THE PHOTO WALK

What happens at a photo walk? The organizer, in that case, Trey Ratcliff in Vienna, gives an introductory speech, then the whole crowd attends the walk to some sights or interesting photo places. At the picture point, Trey sets his tripod, offers some tips and his aims for taking that photo, and the whole bunch of fellow photographers starts shooting, trying to realize the tips they heard for their shootings. 🙂

2017-09-23  SHIP IN STOCKHOLM

Parts of the sea and canals are very well integrated into Stockholm. The Stockholm Pass had a cruising session combined, I attended and was soon on an excursion boat. For taking photos, I had to go outside, on the back deck, because I wanted to prevent to shoot through dirty windows. In the back, space was limited, because the whole crowd wanted to take photos, mostly with smartphones. I had to stand up from time to time, to occupy the space I needed for taking the pictures I want. 🙂

2017-09-22  NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM

It was not really night, but later afternoon in the NY Museum of Natural History. Standing on the gallery I shot that photo of the famous elephants in that big museum hall. Walking through the exhibition rooms I often thought about that funny movie with Ben Stiller “Night at the Museum”.  🙂

2017-09-21  THE SUN WARMING THE BIG WALL OF LUCCA

Lucca is one of the rare cities which have a full city wall around the old town. It’s about 500 years old and 2.5 miles / 4 km long. I have read stories, where the people in the town feel safer because of the wall. Who knows? Being in Lucca made me think about that, and I got something out about this story.

All in all it’s just another brick in the wall
All in all you’re just another brick in the wall  ➡ song text “Another brick in the wall” by Pink Floyd
