2019-03-31 EWHEEL DRIVE

I have seen the EWheel in Nantes, and other French cities seem to be trendy. I think I never will try it, although it looks easy the maneuver and to drive for those who are trained. In Vienna, I take the rental E-Scooters from Lime or Bird. The scooters feel very safe, they have to wheels and a platform for standing, though they can get a speed of 25 km/h. One-wheel is too suspect for me, nothing to hold on, no brake, all depends on balance.

2019-03-30 PIAZZA SAN MARCO LIGHT

Light garlands are hanging from the ceilings on all ways around the Piazza San Marco. My wife and I were late, visited a Campari bar and then took a photo tour. I was pleased that Karin gave me enough time to compose my photos sufficiently.

2019-03-29 HONG KONG AFTERNOON

“What did you like most about HongKong?” Walking through the streets, looking in the shop-windows, eating some street-food and drinking an ice-cold coconut-drink.” In Europe, we always get news about Hong Kong being the most expensive city in the world. I can tell you; you can visit there and need less than thought. We had a Sushi restaurant near the hotel, where we got sushi at about $6 where we all were replete. And the green tea was free.

2019-03-28 ASIAN BOY IN THE OUTLET

On the way home my wife Karin wanted to make a detour to the Designer Outlet near Venice. You get there bargains of the famous Italian fashion brands. That’s what the little boy thought with his shopping bag.

2019-03-27 RUIN ON THE ROCKS

My parents are fans of the Dürnstein Castle, in the Wachau. The castle was built in 1192; nowadays the castle is a ruin. There is a half an hour walk uphill from the village Dürmstein to the ruin. Once a year I walk the tour with my parents. From the walls of the ruin you get a beautiful view of the UNESCO world heritage Wachau.

2019-03-26 CITY OF BIKES

I admired the harmony between cyclists and motorists in Stockholm, which worked harmoniously without aggression. Unlike my hometown Vienna, where a constant battle between cars and bicycles can be observed. Every road user sees the right on his side.

2019-03-25 ATLANTIC IN FRANCE

My wife Karin and I were driving from Cognac to Bordeaux. I suggested to my wife that she would take half an hour to get to the Atlantic coast. We did not expect that we will see such a wide sandy beach with the blue sea of the Atlantic. So I could add some beach photos to my collection.

2019-03-24 AUSTRIAN NATIONAL LIBRARY

You can expect such magnificent frescoes and ceilings in churches or castles. The Austrian Nationalbibliotek also houses these large ceiling frescoes in the “Prunksaal”, painted by court painter Daniel Gran. Locally you can see that many figures and elements were painted in 3D style, and this happened 300 years ago.

2019-03-23 WAITING FOR THE WATER BUS

I shot the beautiful sunset while waiting for a water bus at the Lido di Venezia. Hence life never gets annoying as a photographer. Most of the people waiting were looking at their smartphones, again and again. I was walking around and shot photos from the sunset, the horizon with Venice city far away, the Laguna with the boats and water buses. I ended with about a hundred unexpected pictures in my collection, which I photographed around the water bus station.
