2018-09-30   PIAZZA SAN MARCO IN THE NIGHT

This photo happened in January, my favorite time in Venice. Fewer tourists, moderate cold weather, great for walking around and shooting. Even the Piazza San Marco gets less crowded sooner, and it’s more comfortable taking the pictures you want, without waiting time for getting unwanted people out of the scenery.

2018-09-29   THE WINE TERRACES OF THE WACHAU

The Wachau, an area in Lower Austria, has an exceptional landscape. The river Danube, some fields for corn and wheat and wine terraces where fine white wine is ripening. Some smooth hills surround villages and give an opportunity for hiking tours where you can visit old ruins and castles. Wine taverns offer bread with liver paste, sheep-cheese and first class wine like Riesling Smaragd (Emerald). I tried and can wholeheartedly recommend it. 🙂

2018-09-28   AIX-EN-PROVENCE CENTRE VILLE

On Saturday a very crowded city, it lies in the heart of the Provence. Aix-en-Provence is the home of the great painter Paul Cezanne. The buildings and places represent a style, which is perfect for artists and writers. Also, photographers will find their motifs to bring French feeling to live.

2018-09-26   SINKING SUN OVER PRAGUE

What are the photography hot spots of the world? If you have a look at Instagram, Flickr or the diverse photo blogs I think to the top ten belong: Island, Rome, Japan(Tokyo), Dubai … and Prague. I am lucky, I live in Vienna, only 3 hours away from Prague. Both cities have their similarities in architecture, buildings, old alleys and an old town. Both offer enough for a two to three days photo journey.

2018-09-24   TRAUNSTEIN FROM THE LAKE

My wife Karin and I were driving on the West Autobahn in the direction of Vienna. On the height of Upper Austria, we were near the Salzkammergut, a famous area for its lakes and beautiful villages like Hallstatt. We decided to make a stop a lake named Traunsee. The water was crystal clear, we took a rest of about 3 hours with some bathing and then ate a Wiener Schnitzel in the neighboring village Traunstein.

2018-09-22   MOON OVER BARCELONA

Suddenly it was middle in the night during my photo tour, and surprisingly, I saw the full moon. At this time I was at the “Placa de les Cascades” and shooting in all cardinal directions with my tripod. In the direction where the moon was visible, there was that parkway on the bottom and some skyscrapers in the middle of the photo. The sky was completely blue, without a cloud, it made room for the moon to shine.

2018-09-20   VIENNA VOLKSGARTEN

Between the Vienna Ring Road and the Inner City there lies a park named Volksgarten. Historic buildings and some bars and restaurants surround the area. The museum Albertina is near, the State Opera also. You will find some compositions for your photo gallery, particularly in the blue and golden hour.

2018-09-18   PASTA TO GO IN VERONA

Italian pasta to go, for me the perfect food during the day. Less expensive than in a restaurant, sufficient size of the meal, that you get sated, and many variations from you can choose. Also a good idea for your family trip or the long-lasting sightseeing tours between the Italian alleys.

2018-09-16   THE CLIFFS NORTH OF DUNDEE

My visit to Scotland wasn’t fulfilled without seeing the cliffs. Since my mainstay was in Edinburgh, I took a rental car and went up the North until Dundee. According to my Google-search, bold cliffs should begin here. After a trial-and-error car-Navi faux-pas I could reach the parking lots where the cliffs start. And I wasn’t disappointed, cliffs with wild grass, the vast sea and the right dosage of clouds, all that I imagined for my cliff photos. 🙂

2018-09-14   RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT IN STOCKHOLM

How do people live away from the tourist paths? The photo shows a residential district in Stockholm, fewer tourists more Swedish people. A traditional area with 3-4 level houses, streets with parking lots, cross-walks and a man in a hurry and a young mother with her child.
