2024-06-23, CHURCH IN SANTORINI

With its light pastel tones in the background, this church showcases typical Greek architecture, and I particularly admire the bell arrangement. I captured the photo using the Leica X Vario.

2024-05-28, THE OLD TOWN OF MYRTOS

Myrtos is a town where Greek culture, flair, and houses come together, with a beach overlooking the Libyan Sea. If this combination is on your list of favorites, you should consider visiting the city. A good opportunity for the Leica M240.

My wife Karin and I were looking for an excellent place to eat. Finally, we ended up in a Sushi restaurant. On the way I could catch some photos of the nightly Athens.

2022-02-05 THE CENTER OF ATHENS

In every city, I head for the city center. You will usually find the lively life and many attractive buildings and hotels for photos. Athens is no exception; I did a few rounds with the Sony A7R IV.

2021-10-26 ALL THE WAY UP

In the photo, you can see the last stairs before you reach the Acropolis. The pillars offer a foretaste of what to expect. Fascinating with which simple tools the structures were created 2500 years ago.

2021-09-01 THE GUARDIANS IN ATHENS

If you want to see the changing of the guard in front of the parliament in Athens, I recommend the evening hours. The lighting combined with the ritual of disciplined steps and the guards in the shade brings an additional sophistication to the procedure.

2021-03-26 GREEK PARLIAMENT

At times I am skeptical when looking for recommended attractions in a city. The changing of the guard from the Greek Parliament is a great event. The line-up of the guards and the synchronized movements is an exciting spectacle. I was lucky enough to be there at dusk and benefited from the special light.

2021-03-23 WAITING FOR MARIOS

I waited for my colleague Marios at Syntagma Square. There was little traffic due to the lockdown. So I got to the meeting point 20 minutes earlier. I used that to take pictures of the area, like here the way across Syntagma Square.

2021-02-26 ATHENS EVENING DINNER

On the next day, my friend Marios showed us a beautiful restaurant. I was especially impressed by the landing stage out to the sea. With my Leica M240, I could catch the scene, photographing from our restaurant table. By the way, we had excellent Greek finger food and red wine.
