2023-01-06 A GREEN HOUSE IN MILAN

These clean lines and the windows really fascinated me about this house. Taken while walking through Milan with the Leica X Vario.

2022-08-29 THE CANALS OF MILAN

It’s a good idea to visit the canals of Milan in the evening. The hustle and bustle between bars and restaurants cast a spell over the visitor—an excellent time to indulge in an Italian cocktail or red wine.

2021-06-10 STREET IN MILAN

There is always something new to discover on the Italian roads, whether it’s the entrance gates, the balconies, or the plastering of the house walls, for me, an endless loop of photo opportunities. Milan’s streets are a good example.

2020-02-26  THE COLOSSAL CATHEDRAL

Colossal, the best description for the Milan Cathedral. The sheer size and dimensions are overwhelming. If you study each art-piece, structure, and historical painting, you will be engaged for days.

2020-02-15  THE CAMPARI BAR

I can recommend taking the standing room directly at the bar. You get free finger food like nuts, dried vegetables, and olives. Plus Campari Soda with crushed ice. One of my favorite places in Milan. My wife Karin is also enthusiastic about it.

2019-10-02 THE WHITE DUCKS

It was some years ago that I visited with my wife Karin an art exhibition in Milan. One of my photos was about the white ducks and the farm animals. With art, the opinions often differ sharply, but this beautiful herd won the hearts of all spectators.

2019-09-17 FASHION IN MILAN

Many fashion shops line the streets of Milan. The displays and interiors have adapted to the style of the buildings. Some stores mutated into a mix of cafe and shop. No wonder nobody wants to miss Italian espresso. Photo shot with the compact full frame camera Sony RX1-R.

2019-07-19 MILAN PIAZZA DEL DUOMO

Even sometimes you can benefit from the tourists on Piazza del Duomo. The place is crowded all the time. With some individual compositions, you can put tourists in a new light like this Asian girl doing smartphone shots of her girlfriend.

2019-06-07 RAILWAY STATION MILANO CENTRALE BLACK AND WHITE

I like the flair of old Italian railway stations. They remind me of Italian movies from Federico Fellini or Vittorio de Sica. Going through the halls and looking at the hectic life of the crowd, some organized chaos. Some travelers have long train journeys; others take the suburban train to their hometown. Everyone smells the scent of the tracks and the oil on the edge of the rails.

2019-05-23 APPLE STORE IN MILAN

Where is the most spectacular Apple store in the world? I think Milan belongs to the top ranks. The glass wall with the integrated waterfall on a downstairs located shop is an architectural masterpiece. I didn’t search after it, I saw the store by accident and positioned myself to find the perfect composition.
