On the Tour de France with my wife, the French palaces were always a fixed destination. The spacious buildings with the rough stonework exerted a particular fascination as here in Avignon.

2021-02-06 BAR IN SAN FRANCISCO
The rooftop bar in the Hilton San Francisco brings you a 360-degree view of the city. With the inconspicuous Sony RX1R, I was able to walk around and take a few photos. The bar stands out with the cool lighting that bathes the window frames in purple. Then we had a cocktail and salty Japanese nuts to round off the day.

Taking the heavy Sony Zeiss 135 1.8 ZA lens on the photo walk paid off. A classical lens that shows no weakness on the Sony A7R IV.

2021-02-03 A SUNDAY WITH FRIENDS
The walks with friends on Sunday afternoons often lead to surprisingly great pictures. Allotment gardens with a swimming pond and sinking sun bring a world to the photos with the right exposure that looks attractive despite the simple frame.

2021-02-02 THE MYSTERIOUS MASK
During a nighttime stroll through Venice, parties’ chaos poured out of one of the hotel windows. On closer inspection, it was a masked ball with mysterious masks. That would be a sound basis for a Venice movie thriller with dark alleys, facades, and conspiracies.

The lighting on the buildings and bridges in Dubai is fascinating. Often they can be found in colored lights or in black and white like in this photo. With the perfect temperature, the nights are predestined for photo walks.

2021-01-29 BLUE HOUR IN THE WINTER
The concrete bridge and the blue hour lean towards the evening with the trees in the winter mood. In winter, darker, slightly grey colors let the colder air feel. I took the photo in Klosterneuburg, a town in Lower Austria where good friends live.
