2017-02-18 FOOD COURT IN TORONTO

In the early afternoon, I was starving, I had breakfast at about 9 am, was walking and shooting the whole day, so it was time to look after some food. In downtown Toronto, we found this food court, where I couldn’t resist to take a big portion of sushi.  🙂 … especially more healthy than most of the burgers and pizzas.

2017-02-17 BUILDING FOR CENTURIES

This is the church for the centuries, a stunning architectural marvel, Gaudi’s masterpiece. The start of construction was 1882 and it is not finished yet, the building activity is ongoing, the anticipated completion date is 2026. Sagrada Familia is one of the most impressive buildings I have ever seen.

2017-02-16 GORILLA BOUTIQUE

I liked this boutique with that guy sitting on his place and looking around  🙂  maybe it’s better marketing to bring in such art-accessories to attract more customers …

2017-02-15 NIGHT SKIING

Winter sports in the night get more and more attraction, nearly every ski resort has a lighted piste. Also curling, sledding and ice skating are popular in the late hours. That’s good for photographers, the pistes look pretty cool during the night with the light between the woods and the snow which gets colorful textures. This shot I got by accident, I went out of an apres-ski bar and spotted this mountain with the lighted pistes, since I was far away I took my Sony A6000 and Sony Zeiss FE 55 1.8 which became a 70mm lens with the APS-C camera, that was enough to get a good composition.

2017-02-14 LUCKY TECHNICIANS

Not many technicians can share such a great view from their workplace like here in the Smart City in Malta. The blue sea, mostly sunny weather, a lounge near the water pool, a nice environment to relax during the lunch break or go for an after work drink.  🙂

2017-02-13 STILL LIFE WITH TREES

This photo was shot at a cold and windy winter day in Styria, the Green Heart of Austria. The trees had no leaves, the sky was grey/white with no sun, the meadow in a kind of winter sleep …  A good day for tanking fresh air…

2017-02-12 HONG KONG FROM ABOVE

I was very happy with my hotel room on the 27th floor. Normally I don’t like to shoot through window glass but here it was the only way to catch these views. Most notably there were no bad reflections on the glass therefore nobody is thinking about that it have been shot this way  🙂

2017-02-11 LIGHTED STREET IN VENICE

In Venice you are really lucky if you get a shot with no people on the street, especially if you do long-term exposures. This motive I tried three times… until it was on the SD-card  🙂  The scene reminds me a bit of a video game like “The Thieve” where you had to creep through such alleyways and hide behind each wall that you won’t be found by a warden.

2017-02-10 ICE SKATING IN FULL SWING

In Vienna in front of the city hall and the adjacent park  you get two ice skating grounds which are connected via “ice streets” and offer a great area for the skaters. Best time is before noon because in the afternoon it’s very crowded and you have to practice braking and eluding more often  🙂

2017-02-09 FASCINATING MOSQUE

In this mosque I tried to catch the iron ring with the light bulbs, the beautiful carpet, the pillars with the incredible, colorful and detailed mosaics and the praying people. Before I entered a mosque the first time, I couldn’t imagine how fascinating this experience would be.
