2017-11-20  CYCLIST IN STOCKHOLM

Bicycles are high-ranking in the Northern European capitals like Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Oslo or here in Stockholm. Although I didn’t rent a bike, I was busy taking photos. There I noticed some harmony between the means of transportation. In Vienna, there is always a feud between cars and bicycles.  😕

2017-11-19  BEACH OF NICE

In Nice, I had a room rented via Airbnb. The host gave us the keys, and we felt like Nice-residents for some days. The flat was in a typical Nice residence where only French people lived. On a day I rented an electric Toyota car where I drove up to the hills of the east and shot that photo of Nice with the beach.

2017-11-18  TORONTO FROM THE CN TOWER

Toronto is a power-metropolis, 10-lane streets, excellent infrastructure, a vibrant city. Modern buildings, many young an hip residents. From CN tower you get a great view of the city area. In three days I saw Cirque du Soleil, Comic-Con with Stan Lee, sightseeing with a speedboat. 😎

2017-11-17  BURANO IN THE NIGHT

Who in Burano did have the idea to paint all the houses in different colors? Maybe a few residents started, then others attended. Or it was a decree from the local council? However, this little town is a photographer’s dream. I had only two hours for exploring. I did my best and shot a series of photos. Swiftly I walked through most parts of the city. My wife was with me all the time. I took photos and she looked at the streets, houses and churches.  🙂

2017-11-16  WATERFALL IN A GORGE

I visited my parents in Eisenkappel-Vellach this summer. My father was in a health spa. On a sunny Sunday afternoon, we did two hours walk in a gorge. It was coolish between the rocks, trees and plants, a pleasant contrast to the hot sun. The greenery was wet; you had to be careful of the slick way. I saw that wild river with the waterfalls. I thought about swimming, but as I stood in the ice-cold water with my calves, I decided to stay with this “Kneipp cure.” 😎 I shot some photos of the waterfall. After going out of the water, my lower feet were unfeeling, my bloodstream and body completely fresh.

2017-11-15  HUNTSVILLE IN CANADA, THE TOWN WITH THE LAKE

It is a funny thing in Huntsville, the lake is part of the city, and many residents use boats for shopping and dining. My wife Karin and I were sitting in a restaurant at a big nachos-cheese bowl, as many guests were berthing whit their vessels at that jetty on the photo.  🙂 It was shot with Sony A7R, Sony Distagon T* 24mm f/2 ZA SSM Lens and LA-EA4 adapter.

2017-11-14  VIENNA TOWN HALL NIGHT SHOT

The Vienna Town Hall is a historically valuable building. It lies at a lovely park. One of the recommended sights when you visit Vienna. Currently, there is construction work on the town hall place. The Christmas market is in the making. The opening party is on 17th November. Then it’s more than one month time for celebrating the pre-Christmas period.  🙂

2017-11-13  ASIAN GIRL IN MILAN

Milan, a diverse city with many Asian tourists and residents. My city-walking-photography tour brought me to small alleyways, narrow streets, and little bars and restaurants. I saw this walking girl by accident. I was ready to shoot at the right time. Luckily, I had my zoom lens with me. Without you often don’t have the time for changing lenses or bodies, for street photography, I prefer zooms.

2017-11-12  SUN BEHIND THE MOUNTAINS

I saw many photographers and tourists come and go during my session on the observation tower at the Pyramidenkogel (“wooded pyramid mountain”). Armed with my tripod, I had to wait for the decisive moment. The fluctuations of the wooden floor, bred by walking visitors, spread over to my placed tripod. Especially with long exposures, it got tricky. I had to wait for quiet moments. This was one of the reasons why I was more than two hours on the tower. The other reason was this great sun, which sunk behind the mountains. Heaven and mountains got a shining, yellow light. A real nature spectacle. 🙂

2017-11-11  HORSES RACE TRACK IN HONG KONG

The stadium of a famous sport in Hong Kong, Horse Racing. I shot that photo from the high deck of a RedBus line motorbus. I used every stop at a red light or traffic jam to get shake-free photos. It’s one of my preferred city tour expeditions, sitting on the open air deck with my camera in hand. Walking a dozen miles every day with the photo gear gives you pain after two or three days, even packed with mirrorless cameras, like the Sony E series.
