2017-05-05  CHICAGO FROM THE TOWER

It’s a pity that most of the towers don’t have open air observation decks anymore, often you have to shoot through the windows, like here on the Willis Tower in Chicago. Then you have to search after a relatively clean, scratch-free window to take your photos. With this, you get motives you maybe won’t shoot frequently but bring you still excellent views.

2017-05-04  THE OLD CRAFTMAN’S TRADE

Even some younger guys find back to the profession of the shoemaker. You need smooth leather, hammer, scissor, nails, heels to form and build a high-quality shoe. The whole process lasts hours and needs some skill, strength, and endurance. The results are unique shoes which often last for a lifetime. 🙂

2017-05-03  BRIDGE IN ROME

Walking around in Rome during my waiting time for a business date brought me to that bridge. For me, the atmosphere, the two streetlights, and the background were typical Rome and therefore the next stop for taking a photo.

2017-05-02  DANUBE CANAL WITH SHIP

Since I was waiting for my wife Karin on a Saturday forenoon, I walked around the Danube canal and took some shots from the area. A ship, the canal, buildings and the bridge, only possible with a wide angle lens. I mostly have my Sony FE 10-14 lens with me, because again and again, it is incidental that it’s a necessity.

2017-05-01  THE GUITARS OF ZZ TOP

The Museum of Rock in Cleveland is an impressive, modern building, four stories full of rock music reminiscences, videos, golden records, and anecdotes of the musicians. For me fascinating, I like them all from The Beatles to Kayne West. One of the eye catchers were those green guitars of ZZ Top, a band from whom I didn’t know many songs. But I changed that after the visit, where I searched after ZZ Top on Apples Music and listened to their best-of album.  🙂

2017-04-30  WIDE AREA OF AGRICULTURE

In the foreground more wine, in the background corn and sugar beets, that’s the agriculture in Lower Austria. I recognize the accurate drawing of the dividing lines between the fields. Near the vineyards are little cellar houses connected with narrow streets.

2017-04-29  VENICE CANAL

It was about two miles west of the Piazza San Marco where I spied that canal embedded between those red and yellow houses. I was standing on an arched bridge and was concentrating on holding the camera steady. I like the outcome, looks a bit painterly, not typical for Venice, but typical for Italy. 🙂

I was standing on the balcony of the Basilica San Marco where I could film the St Mark’s Clocktower with the two men, hammering the clock.

2017-04-28  BIRCHES IN THE SUN

It was near Wattens, Tyrol, where we stopped for a walk after a 6-hour drive. At every journey, trip or walk I have a camera with me, minimum my iPhone. That time it was my Sony A7S with the Sony Zeiss SAL 24 F2. And the opportunity arose, to shoot this photo of the beautiful birches at the wayside.

2017-04-27  ARCHES IN AGRA

I think it was near the Red Fort where I explored that building with those artfully built arches. Many Indians used it as a relaxing area, and so did I.  🙂 Since the temperature was sweltering with high humidity it was a need to sit down from time to time, watching people, gardens, and architecture. Especially when I had to carry two cameras, batteries, and four lenses. I was lucky that I only had the Sonys of the A7-series with me, which are lighter in weight. 🙂

2017-04-26  GREEN GRASS IN GOZO

The weather is a bit different in Gozo and Malta in the winter months; you can see green, lush grass, blooming flowers and bushes, warm weather, not too cold, pleasant. 🙂 Then if you can find such a lovely valley as here on the photo, you have good preconditions for landscape shots. Then if the friendly bus driver brings you to the next sight, you have a perfect day. 🙂
