2019-04-09 CINQUE TERRE FROM THE SEASIDE

I was driving with a “tourist”-motor boat, where I had to navigate the motor with a hand-rod. My wife Karin was sitting at the front. Though it was an imbalance, with my weighty body in the back of the boat, however, after a 20 minutes drive, I was out on the sea and shoot some photos of Cinque Terre from the seaside. Then I placed the anchor, jumped into the water and did some rounds of snorkeling.

2019-04-08 MUSEUMSQUARTIER VIENNA

Inside buildings it’s often the perfect opportunity to use your wide-angle lens. In the multi-story building called MUMOK in the Museumsquartier Vienna, I was able to depict the branched floors with one shot. A 14mm lens is still a good compromise between capturing the scene and distorting the edges. That’s one of the reasons why I do not go below 14mm.

2019-04-07 SHOPPING CENTER IN NANTES

The architecture reminds me of a Napoleonic-era country castle, instead of a shopping mall. The name is Le Passage Pommeraye. I had enough time to shoot photos; my wife was traveling in the small streets of the city. I positioned myself at the entrance, at the staircase, and was able to photograph the magnificent round arches on the first floor.

2019-04-05 TEL AVIV HARBOR

The sky with the dense clouds and the breaking through sun was the photo motive for all persons who were traveling at the pier at that time. Most people took a quick picture with their smartphone. For these impressions, it is better to have a camera, which facilitates the composition and creates more sustainable images.

2019-04-03 SUNDAY EVENING WALK

No evening walk without my camera. Last Sunday my wife Karin and I were walking through the City Park (“Stadtpark”) in Vienna. With its central location, you get some nice viewing areas between the Hotel Intercontinental and the Ring Boulevard. On the northern side lies the spa-saloon “Hübner,” which was built in 1857 by Emperor Franz Josef I. An excellent reason to for an evening shot with my Leica and my wife.

2019-04-02 ON THE ROOF OF MILAN CATHEDRAL

The walking tour I will never forget is on the roof of Milan Cathedral. You are so near to the architecture; you can grab the stones and concrete structures. I admire more and more the architects and workers who have built that marvel. You can plan at least 2 hours, don’t think twice, when you are in Milan, attend this tour. You have to pay a bit extra for the tickets, I was unsure first, but then glad that I did it. The same is true for my wife Karin, and my brother and sister in law.
