2019-09-17 FASHION IN MILAN

Many fashion shops line the streets of Milan. The displays and interiors have adapted to the style of the buildings. Some stores mutated into a mix of cafe and shop. No wonder nobody wants to miss Italian espresso. Photo shot with the compact full frame camera Sony RX1-R.

2019-09-15 DANUBE CANAL IN VIENNA

A sidearm of the river Danube flows through the city center of Vienna. You can choose many bridges to place your tripod for long exposure shots. I would recommend the bridge near the Schwedenplatz; here the view is bright. I was traveling with a group. Soon we were surrounded by interested spectators after we had placed our tripods. Anyway, then we continued with our photo session.

2019-09-13 MY WIFE AT THE GETTY VILLA

We were walking upstairs from the parking lot, my wife Karin was already in the viewing area. At this moment, I liked the composition with the surrounding architecture and the Roman temple behind her. This was my first photo at the Getty Villa. The classical postcard shots crowd the internet, bringing new perspective changes gives your photos a new life.

2019-09-11 NEON LIGHTS OF HONG KONG

Often I do not rush into the hustle and bustle from one sight to the next. Walking through the streets of a city and taking pictures is often more interesting and relaxing. HongKong is a good example. I am a fan of neon lights, busy streets and Asian characters.

2019-09-09 LIDO VENICE

Lido means the beach-area of Venice. You have to take a 20 minutes waterbus drive from Piazza San Marco. If you don’t want to sit on the beach the whole day, rent a bike and explore the island. From an old airport, landing stages which extend far out to the sea and bike lanes all over the place there is enough to explore, and time for many photos you can bring home with your camera.

2019-09-08 THE ALWAYS INTERESTING FREAK SHOW

Venice Beach in LA – a joy to go along the boardwalk and look at the little shops and restaurants. Even more interesting are the different types of people who walk around. They are often dressed in fantasy clothing, driving with spectacular bikes or showing cool skateboard stunts — a steady flow of a big freak show, free and accessible every time. No Burning Man or music-festival is needed, only visit, walk, and look.

2019-09-06 VAN GOGH MUSEUM GLASS FLOWERS

A good idea from the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam to extend the exhibition hall to artfully decorated experience rooms, where you can see motives of the painter’s pictures rebuilt in glass and multimedia experiences. I like these new concepts to connect tech and haptic art with old paintings. It lifts the museum visit on a new level, more exciting, and a new opportunity for photographers. For this photo I attached a Leica Elmarit 28mm 2.8 lens via Novoflex adapter on a Sony A7R 2.

2019-09-05 ENTRY DOORS IN VENICE

The photo shows typical entry doors in Venice. You are parking the boat before the house, jumping off and going directly in your anteroom. Where else in the world is this possible? Particularly unique design and interior surround every building.

2019-09-04 INDIAN GIRL IN AGRA

Agra is well known for the Taj Mahal. One other attractive sight is the Red Fort. A large building with walls built from red stone. Inside there is a vast garden area where I could shoot a picture from that nice little Indian girl. She was dressed in a beautiful dress and running around on the lawn — a more attractive photo then the red walls.

2019-09-03 SUNRISE IN MALTA

I thought about why the sunrise is so intense in Malta, maybe because there are no mountains which interrupt, only the endless flat sea, where the sun can show its power at the fullest when going up. I got up early to go to the gym in the morning. But before, I went on the pool deck and shot some sunrise photos from the “The Palace” hotel in Sliema.
