2020-01-16  UNKNOWN PLACE IN FRANCE

With the rental car starting from Nantes and driving to Nice, my wife Karin and I passed so many villages and landscapes, that I cannot remember where I shot that photo. I like the picture. The color of the old hut combined with the tree and the blue sky, where the moon shines through, is a beautiful combination.

2020-01-15  PHOTOS FROM THE STRIP

Some time to take pictures was always a nice end to the day in Las Vegas. I liked being on the pedestrian bridges where I could get a good overview of what was happening on the strip. I also caught the time of sunset, which made the pictures more atmospheric.

2020-01-14  AFTERNOON SUN AT THE ATLAS MOUNTAINS

We enjoyed afternoon tea on a terrace with a great view near the city of Imlil. The Atlas Mountains surround you, and you get Moroccan tea in traditional dishes. The mild sun soon disappears behind the mountaintop, yet warms the air to 25 degrees Celsius, even though it is deep winter.

2020-01-13  THE WAY OF THE LIGHT

One hour before sunset, I often take city photos. When the first street lamps get turned on, and you can see that the sky gets more and more gloomy. That’s the perfect atmosphere for where the older buildings and the lights get an ideal harmony of the passing day and the starting night — the prime time for a photographer.

2020-01-12  MY WIFE IN FRONT OF THE OPERA

My Sunday-afternoon photo walk brought us on the terrace of the Albertina Museum in Vienna. There you get a beautiful view of the opera building from a higher level. I placed my Leica Summicron 50mm lens via the Novoflex adapter on my Sony A7s. With the excellent manual focusing feature, I could catch some portrait-bokeh shots from my wife, Karin.

2020-01-11  THE GETTY CENTER OVER LOS ANGELES

Very cool, how to get to the Getty Center. You park in an oversized parking garage with up to 12 levels, which hosts the biggest SUVs on its large parking spaces. Then you go up the hill with a driverless electric train. On the top, you get an overview of the impressive buildings and gardens of the Getty area, interspersed with many works of art.

2020-01-10  A GOOD IDEA, TO ALWAYS WEAR A CAMERA

On a Saturday evening between the Christmas holidays, I spent with my wife Karin a couple of hours in the bar Motto in Vienna. I shot a still-life of a wine glass with the beautiful bokeh of the Leica Summilux lens. For me, always interesting to bring everyday objects to life under a new perspective.

2020-01-08  VALETTA FROM THE SEA

The company outing took place on a 30-meter long excursion boat. I had the opportunity to be at the very front of the bow. With this view, I only had to pay attention to a high shutter speed so as not to blur the photos. There was no shortage of motifs; the historic buildings in Malta are like classic postcards.

2020-01-07  ON THE WAY TO THE CINEMA

Even with the vast offer of Netflix and Amazon Video, I like to go to the cinema. Since I grew up with the cinema, where the TV program was limited, I like the feeling of sitting in the broad chairs looking at the big screen and waiting for the film to start. On the photo is the entry of the Gartenbau-Kino in Vienna.

2020-01-06  VILLAGE IN THE ATLAS MOUNTAINS

I was surprised that there is a road that leads so far into the mountains. We followed the path after Imlil and were up to 3000 meters in a short time. We had a fantastic panorama of the Atlas mountains, and I was able to take home some impressive mountain photos.
