2020-02-17  UNDER THE BAT BRIDGE

We were waiting and waiting, but this day they didn’t come out. Even two tourist boats illuminated the bows with red headlights. Only very few of the tired bats were flying, short of the millions, which was mentioned on some websites. However, I could use the waiting time with a photo session of the surrounding.

2020-02-15  THE CAMPARI BAR

I can recommend taking the standing room directly at the bar. You get free finger food like nuts, dried vegetables, and olives. Plus Campari Soda with crushed ice. One of my favorite places in Milan. My wife Karin is also enthusiastic about it.

2020-02-14  MALTESE IMPRESSIONS

The narrow streets, the medieval buildings, Malta offers everything for delightful photo motifs. Since I am often there for work, I like to take 1-2 hours to fill my portfolio with photos. Black and white images, in particular, come very well with the Maltese background.

2020-02-13  COCKTAIL BAR AT THE DANUBE

“You were workin’ as a waitress in a cocktail bar When I met you” – In cocktail bars, I must always think of the song text of Human League “Don’t you want me.” The restaurant and bar “Motto am Fluss” is built over the Danube, you can get a view of the river when sitting at the bar and let all people around you have a good time.

2020-02-11  STREETS OF LONDON

After my dinner at a Turkish restaurant, I was on the street taking some photos. It was quite cold, but I couldn’t miss the opportunity for street photography in London. Only a few hundred meters away from the Qbic hotel, there were some cool streets, restaurants, and construction works for photo shooting.

2020-02-10  MY WIFE WITH THE LEICA

I was on the Ringstrasse in Vienna again. My Sunday afternoon activity. This time I had the Leica M240 with the Elmarit 28mm 2.8 lens. I did several portrait sessions with my wife Karin to test the qualities of the glass. A perfect image with a medium aperture 4.8 and higher ISO number 1000.

2020-02-09  ART IN ITALIAN CITIES

It is always fascinating to stroll through Italian cities and then be surprised by art installations. The colors, the buildings, art and a mild evening create harmony.

2020-02-08  ATLANTIC COAST IN FRANCE

The weather was too cold and windy to take a bath in the sea. The windsurfers were dressed in a wetsuit. So I used the whole afternoon for shooting photos. Then my wife Karin pressured me to take a break and sit down in a cafe. It offered fresh oysters, an excellent opportunity to try one. You get oysters very hard in Austria, so it was a welcome meal with the taste of the Atlantic.

2020-02-06  PLACA DE LA UNIVERSITAT

It was only a short walking distance to the Plaza de la Universitat in Barcelona. I had about one hour until the invitation for dinner in the Hard Rock Cafe. What could be better than street photography? For my luggage, only minimal weight was allowed in the plane; I had my Leica X Vario with me. It did a great job. For faster photos and quick spots, I shot on A-mode with shutter and aperture and Auto ISO, I usually do it mostly manual. You have to adapt to the conditions to get the best out of the scenes. With steady action around you and limited time, these settings are preferable.

2020-02-05  VAN GOGH MUSEUM STAIRS

It is often not just the exhibitions, but the museum itself that is worth a visit. Here the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam convinces with modern, linear architecture and the free space between the floors. Life and the hustle and bustle in the museum.
