2021-02-15 TRAFFIC IN TOKYO

In Tokyo, my breakfast was Sushi. I walked down the Shibuya station, where I visited the market hall. They had Sushi to go in all variations; every day, I could choose a new selection. The evening was reserved for photo sessions.

2021-02-14 WALKING TO THE WÜRSTELSTAND

The photo shows how I come from the Albertina sausage stand to eat the sausages with mustard and ketchup. It is not allowed to eat directly at the stand because of Covid. So I go to the nearby Volksgarten, find a concrete plinth and eat there.

2021-02-13 HOTEL LOBBY IN VENICE

I think it was two years ago when I went to this hotel with my wife, Karin. The room prices were too high, so we only paid a visit to the bar. We took Averna with ice cubes and got wasabi nuts. Then we took a tour of the floors, combined with photoshoots. To my shame, I don’t remember the name of the hotel.

2021-02-12 TREES IN FRANCE

During our Tour de France, I liked to shoot the “little things.” Streets, trees, everyday scenes are often more interesting than sights. With these beautiful trees in the photo, I often think nature is the best.

2021-02-11 THE TAGADA

A Tagada is an amusement ride for the die-hard. If you stand up, you have to balance against the vibrations. Avoid falling; otherwise, you are the victim of the Tagada, which leads to you are punished from the floor to the seats and back without a chance to get a grip again. This is one of my night photos in Savona, Italy.

2021-02-10 WALKING IN THE PARK

The cold winter air, green lawn and green trees, cold and oncoming evening – the lights of the park lights came on, all ingredients for an optimal park photo. I saw all of this in the Volksgarten in Vienna.

2021-02-09 SCOOTER MAN

Often times, scooters are the fastest way to get around crowded cities. The photo was shot with the Leica M240 in Vienna.

2021-02-07 FRENCH PALACE

On the Tour de France with my wife, the French palaces were always a fixed destination. The spacious buildings with the rough stonework exerted a particular fascination as here in Avignon.

2021-02-06 BAR IN SAN FRANCISCO

The rooftop bar in the Hilton San Francisco brings you a 360-degree view of the city. With the inconspicuous Sony RX1R, I was able to walk around and take a few photos. The bar stands out with the cool lighting that bathes the window frames in purple. Then we had a cocktail and salty Japanese nuts to round off the day.

2021-02-05 BLACK AND WHITE IMPRESSIONS

Taking the heavy Sony Zeiss 135 1.8 ZA lens on the photo walk paid off. A classical lens that shows no weakness on the Sony A7R IV.
