I liked the long walk along the Garonne. Many different things to explore, skate parks, musicians, snack bars, and the river. My wife fell in love with the city, so I had ample time to shoot photos.

2021-03-17 THE LAKES OF CANADA
The lakes around Huntsville were flat, large, and blue. The adjacent land was very flat with deciduous trees. On the whole, the view was unspectacular but still impressive with its touch of endless size.

2021-03-16 THE NEXT CITY WHERE I WAIT FOR THE AWAKENING
It’s a bit grotesque when the city is full of tourists; you groan at the crowd. But now, completely extinct, it’s not the Venice we know. So we are waiting for the return to the old greatness.

2021-03-15 THE CANALS OF AMSTERDAM
I am looking forward to revisiting Amsterdam. Currently, it’s not possible, but I think I could go in the fall. My daughter will begin to study there, so my visits will be more frequent—one of my favorite cities for walking around with a camera.

2021-03-14 SUN OVER THE MEDITERRANEAN SEA
Sometimes unbelievable what the sun can do. In Malta, the whole Mediterranean Sea gets dipped in red light; you can feel the warmth of the sun. No land or mountains interrupt the horizon; the next island Sicily is hundreds of miles away. The photo was shot from the outdoor deck of the Palace Hotel.

2021-03-12 ANDRE HELLER’S GARDEN
A fixed destination for me in Morocco was to visit Andre Heller’s Anima garden. It is located 30 minutes outside of Marrakech and offers artistic sculptures between landscaped plants and trees. Remarkable when you can snap photos of the palm trees with the Atlas Mountains from the visitor center’s roof.

2021-03-11 STREET IN VIENNA
The bridge combined with the weather brought me a more exciting framing than I initially thought. The buildings’ height comes into its own, and the car roofs’ reflections add to the atmosphere.

2021-03-09 THE OLD MUSIC STORE
On Sunday, after a long time, I unpacked my Nordic walking sticks and went on a longer tour with my wife Karin. We met a new bakery that had settled in a music shop. The lettering from the 60s has been retained and there are fresh pastries inside. I found it on the Währinger Straße, in the 18th district in Vienna and had my Leica M8 in the bag.

2021-03-07 PIGEONS IN VENICE
It’s time to visit St. Mark’s Square again. There to feed the pigeons, to cross the narrow streets and bridges, and to breathe in the salty air in the canals. My plan for the summer.
