These scenes from Savona reminded me of my childhood vacation. The beach with the carousel, the lighting in the area, and the ice cream stand. Certain things don’t change in Italy.

2021-05-02 FAMOUS HOTEL SACHER
The Hotel Sacher in Vienna was also hit hard by the lockdown. The home of the Sachertorte(Sacher-cake) has been shut down in emergency mode. Tourism should start again in mid-May.

For me the most iconic subway sign in the world. It’s some pop culture. The stairs with the tiled walls and the subway stations’ names are all unique London.

2021-05-01 GIRL IN THE JAPANESE GARDEN
The girl styled according to a Japanese fashion style was fitting among the cherry trees. Since I was on the other side of the pond, I had to take pictures with full zoom. It’s good that I had my Tamron 28-75 FE with me. All shot in Setagaya park, the Japanese garden in Vienna.

Lots of Hamburg in one photo. Elbphilharmonie, Speicherstadt, and the canal out to sea. You only have to find suitable bridges for the images.

2021-04-29 MORNING SPORTS IN SCHÖNBRUNN
My daughter did a more extensive run. I placed myself on the staircase at Schönbrunn Palace. The impressive panorama with the baroque garden and the Gloriette in the background was my central motif. The joggers in the run-up rounded off the picture.

The small alleys and backyards are often a goal of my photo sessions—usually, a welcome change from the thousands of smartphone photos that always photograph the same tourist destinations. A welcome scene for my Leica X Vario.

2021-04-27 FAMILY WALKING TRIP
On this Sunday afternoon excursion, we didn’t just stick to the sidewalks. We went cross-country through the forest, between the trees on leaves and over branches. Since my parents were also with us, we shied away from the steep descents, but it was still a little adventure in the forests of Vienna.

2021-04-26 WILD BOAR
My wife Karin and I were able to take pictures of the wild boar unnoticed in the beginning. After a short time, we were noticed, and the animal headed towards us. A chain-link fence protected us but we still searched the distance. The wild boar tried to lift the fence with its trunk, good that we were then far away enough.

2021-04-25 EVENING SPORTS IN BARCELONA
I liked the integration of the soccer fields and table tennis tables into the city. I went around the next corner, and suddenly, I was standing in front of the wide sports field, fringed between a church, company, and residential buildings. Well lit for evening sports.
