I wanted to photograph different details of the Van Gogh Museum than what you see anywhere on the web. With this staircase and the Asian girls looking at their smartphones, we have succeeded so far. This museum is a must-visit when in Amsterdam.

The photo has it all, canal, boat, bridge, bikes, and pedestrians, all ingredients which make Amsterdam. I know there are a bit more crooked houses, coffee shops, and flower markets. Since my daughter will do her master’s study in Amsterdam, I will see the city more often in the future.

I am looking forward to revisiting Amsterdam. Currently, it’s not possible, but I think I could go in the fall. My daughter will begin to study there, so my visits will be more frequent—one of my favorite cities for walking around with a camera.

The symbol of Amsterdam. What if not the bike? It is a mega bicycle-city with so many different types, sizes, and colors of bikes, which I have never seen before.

In many museums, not only exhibitions are fascinating. You can often find exciting photo motifs in side rooms and staircases. The photo shows the Van Gogh Museum, where my son is just going down the stairs, and two Asian women are trying a photo session.

If you rent a bike in Amsterdam, be prepared that you get an adventure too. The bridges are often crowded, and you have to navigate between bikers, pedestrians, and some smoked freaks. It’s one of the things which makes the city famous and is included in its DNA.

Relaxing on the lawn, parking the bike, one of the many things I liked in Amsterdam. Visited a museum beforehand, then head for a Heineken beer. And all this is pleasant by bike.
