My wife and I visited the Wörthersee in Carinthia, which is surrounded by charming villages and has excellent water quality, making it a perfect place for swimming and relaxation. While my wife was sitting on the bank, I took a photo of the scenic view using my Leica M9 and Summicron 35mm ASPH lens.

Southern Styria is also called the Austrian Tuscany. Here, too, hill follows hill with scattered trees, green wine gardens, and groves that charm the landscape. For the photo, I took the iPhone 13 Max at hand.

Falkenstein is one of the villages with the famous cellar lanes (“Kellergassen”). Often you can also see a bar with wine and home cooking. A remarkable sight in Lower Austria.

2022-05-13 MY WIFE BRINGS SOME COFFEE
On Sunday, we treated ourselves to a coffee after the garden exhibition in Grafenegg Castle. My wife Karin was kind enough to bring me water, and I had to do without the coffee because I had a dental operation. But there is always time for a photo.

2022-04-18 NEAR THE SUMMIT OF THE SCHAFSBERG
The photo shows the last fortified alpine hut near the summit of the Schafberg. You can only reach the summit peak with good hiking shoes and a head for heights.

Lower Austria is famous for its cellar alleys, known as “Kellergasse”. One wine cellar follows the next, and often there is a bar directly from the basement. The current types of wine are tapped and served with bread and cheese to taste.

2022-03-26 SPRING BREAK IN AUSTRIA
Spring begins for us with a cold morning of 2 degrees Celsius, which turns into heat to 19 degrees Celsius during the day. So in the morning, you need a winter jacket, in the afternoon a vest is enough.
