2017-02-16 GORILLA BOUTIQUE

I liked this boutique with that guy sitting on his place and looking around  🙂  maybe it’s better marketing to bring in such art-accessories to attract more customers …

2017-02-15 NIGHT SKIING

Winter sports in the night get more and more attraction, nearly every ski resort has a lighted piste. Also curling, sledding and ice skating are popular in the late hours. That’s good for photographers, the pistes look pretty cool during the night with the light between the woods and the snow which gets colorful textures. This shot I got by accident, I went out of an apres-ski bar and spotted this mountain with the lighted pistes, since I was far away I took my Sony A6000 and Sony Zeiss FE 55 1.8 which became a 70mm lens with the APS-C camera, that was enough to get a good composition.

2017-02-13 STILL LIFE WITH TREES

This photo was shot at a cold and windy winter day in Styria, the Green Heart of Austria. The trees had no leaves, the sky was grey/white with no sun, the meadow in a kind of winter sleep …  A good day for tanking fresh air…

2017-02-01 ICE COLD FIELD

Some days ago I was driving with my car on a road which was embedded between fields as far as the eyes can reach. It was really cold, about -14 degrees C (about 7 degrees Fahrenheit). The earth was completely frozen, hard as a rock. And I thought that the sun had some effort to rise, because at about 8 am I got this picture with the rising sun  🙂

2017-01-30 HOUSE IN CARINTHIA

Velden am Wörthersee is one of the most famous summer holiday destinations in Austria (though I visited in the winter). The Wörthersee lake is very clean, you could even drink the water. The architecture of this little town has some really nice buildings with turrets, gables, balconies and special roof tiles.

2016-12-19 HILL FROM THE HIGH WALL

The “High Wall” is a mountain-plateau where you have to be very careful with the observation areas. There’s no fence or warning sign, you go ahead and immediately you stand before a 100 meter scarp. The rocks are straight down, better to be free from giddiness. 🙂  This photo was taken some meters away from the big scarp, showing the whole valley among the “High Wall”.

2016-12-07 AUTUMN TREES

Sometimes the occasion for a walk in the nature arises on a Sunday afternoon. The minimum technical gear I have with me is the iPhone, which often leads to photos of my walking destinations.

2016-12-05 LOOKING AT THE SINKING SUN

Last weekend I visited my brother in the northern lower Austria region and it happened by accident that I could see that fantastic sunset. It was about minus 5 degree celsius, maybe that helped that the sky was absolutely clear. It looked like a glowing blaze on the horizon. I am happy that I had my Sigma 35 mm 1.4 Art lens with me  🙂

2016-12-01 DÜRNSTEIN IN THE WACHAU

Walk through Dürnstein in the Wachau and you feel like walking in the medieval times, the whole village is under monumental protection. It’s located in middle of lower Austria, directly at the Danube. There’s also a hill with a castle ruin where the king Richard the Lionheart was arrested. The area is also famous for apricots, you will get them as schnaps, jam or fruit sirup. And a blue church
