2020-12-05 HUNTING LODGE AT SUNSET

On Sunday afternoons, we like to go on a trip to the Klosterneuburg hills. We then hike with friends for 2-3 hours on dirt roads and meadows. The perfect finish is when the sky with sunset throws such lights as you can see in the photo.

2020-12-03 THE RED CARPET

That could be the beginning of a Stanley Kubrick film. Static figures in suits are waiting at the entrance to receive the secret guests. The mysteries inside the building are still unknown.

2020-11-20  IMPRESSIONS IN AUTUMN

Slightly cloudy sky, trees without leaves, and children are flying kites. These are distinct impressions in autumnal Austria. The capital Vienna stretches out on the horizon, covered by an accentuated fog.

2020-11-16  TREES IN AUTUMN

What do you photograph in a lockdown in autumn? With the limited possibilities where only a walk is allowed, trees in the wild are ideal for photos with an autumn mood.

2020-11-09 THE CASTLE WHERE MY BROTHER GOT MARRIED

In the photo, you can see the castle where my brother got married. The first record of the construction of Eckartsau Castle was as early as 1175. It was rebuilt several times and was a high-tech building with running water and electricity at the turn of the century.

2020-11-03 THE RURAL HOUSE IN THE WACHAU

Rural farmhouses can be found between the terraced vineyards of the Wachau. They are characterized by clear structures and colors that are adapted to the environment. Some buildings have been converted into wine taverns, a welcome opportunity to stop off on hiking tours.

2020-10-29 THE FRESH AIR ON A GLACIER

Arriving on the summit of the Dachstein Glacier in Upper Austria brought a spectacular view. It was later morning where the rest of the sun appeared between the mountains and the clouds—nature at its best.

2020-10-02 ON TOP OF THE GLACIER

On top of the Dachstein, you can visit an ice-cave with sculptures chiseled from bare ice. The temperature inside is way under 0 degrees celsius. My son took place on an ice-throne to take a rest. But I can promise, after 2 minutes, nearly everyone stands up because of the temperature.

2020-09-30 DRIVEWAY TO THE DACHSTEIN

When it comes to cable cars, I always think of the technical masterpiece of how it is possible to conquer the steep mountain slopes with a steel cable and carrying stands. The rides often offer spectacular views and unique opportunities to take photos.

2020-08-19 MY SON WITH HIS GIRLFRIEND

My son is standing on the Dachstein Glacier and shooting a photo of his girlfriend, Vickie. It’s so easy and fast shooting photos with the iPhone. I wonder why the camera manufacturers cannot make a similar photo quality with the “Automatic” mode for faster shooting. Often the pictures of the professional cameras don’t do such a proper software correction OOC ( out of camera).
