2017-05-29  TORONTO FROM MY HOTEL ROOM

This photo was the view from my hotel room in Toronto, cool, eh? The first thing before I unpacked my suitcase was to take an HDR shot of this modern building. I like the placement of the elements of the white building blocks. A good contrast to the gray background gives a sculptural, plastic look. I had to photograph through window glass, which I try to avoid, but the window was clean, so I gave it a try, and it worked out not so bad. 🙂

2017-05-22  TRAIN LIKE IN A WESTERN

In my childhood days, the westerns were my favorites; I liked John Wayne, Burt Lancaster, and Robert Mitchum. This train in Huntsville, Canada with the train driver reminded me of these movies, also the railway station where the train took off, had that flair. I think I should go now and have a look if Netflix has “Rio Bravo”  🙂

2017-05-19  CN TOWER IN TORONTO BY NIGHT

At my tripod “excursion” on the “swimming pool – rooftop” of the Toronto Radisson Blue hotel, I caught this night shot of the CN Tower. Beside of some water showers, I got on my back and feet, from people jumping into the pool,  🙂  it was a great shooting experience where I shot some night photos of Toronto. Since there was a second photographer with the same intention in mind, I had to share some space, but it was enough room and time to get what we wanted. 🙂

2017-04-21  BUTTERFLY IN THE CIRCUS

In Toronto, I used the opportunity to watch Cirque Du Soleil in its hometown. They organized parking well; we had to walk about 10 minutes then came the circus area with the tent. The size was similar to other locations where I have seen the Cirque, but the performance Luzia was the most entertaining I have seen so far.

2017-03-23 HIGH TECH CITY TORONTO

During this photo session, I had to look after the swimming pool behind me, that I don’t get too wet, because of the splashes. The roof top terrace had that pool in the middle, with high activity of swimmers and jumpers, even in the night  🙂 . The good thing was, that I could place the tripod, and it wasn’t a problem for any of the guests.

2017-02-18 FOOD COURT IN TORONTO

In the early afternoon, I was starving, I had breakfast at about 9 am, was walking and shooting the whole day, so it was time to look after some food. In downtown Toronto, we found this food court, where I couldn’t resist to take a big portion of sushi.  🙂 … especially more healthy than most of the burgers and pizzas.

2017-01-16 LIGHTING IN TORONTO

I was on the way with a hop on – hop off bus when I decided to leave and take a walk by foot. I was near the Commerce Court when I wanted to eat some Nachos with Guacamole. Inside the building with the food court, I saw those interesting lighting which gave a modern touch to that place.

2017-01-15 THE FALLS FROM ABOVE

For this shot, I tried to take it a bit different, not from the standard visitors area, but rather from a wooden staircase which leads to the restaurant behind. So the whole viewing area got a bit wider to capture this fantastic panorama.

2016-12-31 THE PROFI LEAGUE OF ENTERTAINMENT

Cirque du Soleil has developed a complete artwork. With Luzia it has combined set design, outfits, artistic, music, singing and light in a synergy of flowing scenes of art. Highly recommended

2016-11-23 LAKE IN CANADA

After bringing back the motor boat to the rental desk, I had a look at the lake in Baysville. There I liked the impression of the mirrored water with the waterlilies. I got on my knees and took some photos. Then I had to hurry up because the crew was already on the parking lot and ready to go to the canoe tour  🙂
