2020-04-09  FRENCH FARMHOUSE

On the way to Mont Sainte-Victoire, we stopped searching for a parking space. I wanted to have a look at the mountain as Paul Cezanne did. We found a parking lot near some farmhouses, which became a French expressionist photo.

2020-04-04  PALACE IN AVIGNON

Take the visitor tour in the Palais des Papes; you will get a tablet with a navigation screen and a computer game to make the experience digital. The impressive rooms and halls are one of a kind. I often think of the architects and workers who built these buildings with simpler construction equipment compared to today.

2020-03-31  TREES IN FRANCE

One of the photos from my Tour de France. The journey was from Nantes to Nice by rental car along the west coast. I have seen a dozen of cities and the rural landscape. In a few years, I would like to take a tour from Nice to Paris along the east coast.

2020-02-27  LIFE AT THE BEACH

My wife Karin and I had only one afternoon on the Atlantic coast in France. We took the extra drive of about three hours, but it was completely worth it. A broad and fine-grained sandy beach with the rushing waves of the Atlantic. Some surfers in the back, otherwise only the beach and the sea. Combined with a fresh wind, it was an afternoon to remember.

2020-02-08  ATLANTIC COAST IN FRANCE

The weather was too cold and windy to take a bath in the sea. The windsurfers were dressed in a wetsuit. So I used the whole afternoon for shooting photos. Then my wife Karin pressured me to take a break and sit down in a cafe. It offered fresh oysters, an excellent opportunity to try one. You get oysters very hard in Austria, so it was a welcome meal with the taste of the Atlantic.

2020-01-16  UNKNOWN PLACE IN FRANCE

With the rental car starting from Nantes and driving to Nice, my wife Karin and I passed so many villages and landscapes, that I cannot remember where I shot that photo. I like the picture. The color of the old hut combined with the tree and the blue sky, where the moon shines through, is a beautiful combination.

2019-12-11  SITTING IN THE GRASS

The unique promenade in Bordeaux. People who make themselves comfortable in the high grass. On the other side, the street dancers. A pleasant illumination of the bridges, paths, and bicycle lanes. A very relaxed nightlife in Bordeaux.

2019-11-28  BORDEAUX AND THE RIVER GARONNE

The reflections on the River Garonne from the opposite side of the shore cover the whole width. This was my photo session of all directions. The river in front of me, behind me the public dancers and on the right, the grass ways with the beautiful lanterns. The last two pictures I have already posted.

2019-11-23  LITTLE VILLAGE IN FRANCE

My wife and I were on the Autobahn, driving to Avignon. I didn’t remember the village, which was located on a higher hill, about fifty miles from St. Tropez. Since we were thirsty and hungry, we left the road and made a break. The old town was built to take pictures. Instead of a 15 minutes break, we were there for about an hour. We came back to the car with dozens of new photographs and strengthened with good coffee.

2019-11-21  DANCEFLOOR IN BORDEAUX

The shadows with the dancing people give magnificent scenery for photographing. I have never seen that before, that people are dancing spontaneously in a public place. For French culture, Bordeaux is an excellent representative.
