2020-04-15  THE DOLOMITES

I only knew the Dolomites from photos, stories, and the geography lesson at school. When I first stood in front of these mountain peaks last year, I was impressed. The mountain ranges stretch for many kilometers along the roads and paths. The rugged and jagged rocks bring a wild and romantic mood across—ideal for shooting mountain films and taking photos.

2020-03-12  GELATI IN ITALY

The ice cream parlor is an Italian institution. Sooner or later, you will go in and come out with a large portion of ice cream. 🙂 Verona in the evening.

2020-03-02  STREET IN CINQUE TERRE

I cannot remember in which of the five cities of Cinque Terre the picture was taken. Anyway, it represents the typical Italian life of this area. Walking around in the alleys and then drinking espresso at a cafe.

2020-02-29  SUN IS GOING DOWN AT CINQUE TERRE

My wife Karin and I did the walk from Corniglia to Monterosso over the Cinque Terre trail. After arriving at our destination, we saw a fountain on the central plaza. The cold water was drinkable, a present from heaven after a heat of 40 degrees and a four-hour walk. Then we ended at a little restaurant eating Calamari and shooting some photos from the sinking sun.

2020-02-09  ART IN ITALIAN CITIES

It is always fascinating to stroll through Italian cities and then be surprised by art installations. The colors, the buildings, art and a mild evening create harmony.

2019-12-29  STREETS OF VERONA

Some parts of the streets and alleys are made of marble in Verona. This city should be on the top 10 list of cities to visit in Italy. I stopped there on the way to Cinque Terre for a night of rest because I had a 700 kilometers drive by car from Vienna to Verona. My time there was to short to catch that many photo opportunities, which I saw.

2019-10-25 NIGHT SCENE AT PIAZZA DUOMO IN MILAN

When to shoot black and white photos? Walking around on the Piazza Duomo in Milan is built for b&w. The facades of the buildings with the nightly lamps give the classical shot of Italian cities. It reminds me of the films by Federico Fellini.

2019-10-23 HOUSES IN ITALY

What can top the style of Italian cityscapes? The architecture combined with color and style is unique, sliced plants complement the appearance. For me, every time an opportunity for taking photos.

2019-10-20 THE ITALIAN CITY OF GRADO

Grado is one of the cities you visit if you want to go to the nearest point of the sea from middle and northern Europe. There are Trieste, Lignano, Caorle, and others at the Northern Adria. But Grado has this unique old town and size, where you can walk around in the city without getting too much exhausted. Many roads have bike lanes, restaurants, and bars line the roadside. For those interested, there are also arts and crafts shops.

2019-10-09 SUDDENLY THE VERONA ARENA WAS HERE

The road through the old town of Verona, which we had taken, suddenly ended in front of the magnificent Arena of Verona. The forecourt is a park lined with Italian bars and restaurants. Visit in the evening; then, you can see the arena and the park with impressive lighting.
