Before entering the temple you have to go through a “shopping” street named Nakamise where you get fine sweets made from bean paste. Those taste really good and are fat free 🙂 The temple buildings are amazing, there are purification fountains outside for some kind of washing ritual.
I think there is no city in the world which can compete with the differenct colors and light sources which shine in the streets of Tokyo. From street to street you get new impressions, Ginza, Shibuya, Roppongi an ever evolving sea of street lights.
The time where the first streetlights are turned on, drivers turn on headlights on their cars, the shopwindows begin to glow, then it’s time to take the camera. This is the time which I like most in the cities.
Tokyo is the biggest metropolitan area of the world. There are differing boroughs, some look like villages, other like suburbs and some like high tech mega cities. And at times you can find some trees which look pretty cool if they get the right light.
First I wasn’t sure if I should also visit Tokyo Dome, then I looked at the Google reviews and decided to go. It’s an interesting stadium, nice surroundings, for those who like it there is a roller coaster and a nearby, little theme park. I ate a very good Italian pizza, in Japanese style 🙂
My preferred way for exploring Tokyo is by foot. Walking around, looking, photographing … so you get the most expressions. But you cannot forego the subway, often it’s a need to take it, after you reached your target, you can start the next walking tour.

Diverse Biersorten fein säuberlich aufgereiht und geschlichtet. In den Etagen des Sky Towers findet man kulinarische Leckerbissen in einer Vielzahl an Restaurants. Japanisch, Sushi, Steaks … was das Herz begehrt. Vieles auch zum Mitnehmen. Sky Tower Tokyo sollte unbedingt eingeplant werden.
Eine weit verbreitete Sitte in Japan ist das Ausstellen der Speisen in hoch qualitativer Plastikoptik. Dabei entstehen kleine Kunstwerke in verschiedenen Variationen, von japanischen Sushi bis zu Sandwiches and Früchten. Es wird viel Wert auf Ästhetik gelegt, Kitsch ist nur selten anzutreffen.
Die nett beleuchteten Getränkeautomaten sind nicht vom Stadtbild Tokyo’s wegzudenken. Die machen richtig Lust, sich einen kühlen Drink zu genehmigen. Vor allem wo es ein großes Angebot an zuckerfreien Eistees gibt. Bei den ersten Versuchen besteht auch das Risiko, dass man eine Zuckerbombe auswählt, gehört dazu, die meisten Touristen werden es schwer haben, die Bezeichnungen auf den Flaschen zu lesen. 🙂
