2018-07-01   STAIRWAY TO THE FIRST FLOOR

In which castle or magnificent building are we? No castle :-), it’s the stairway to the first floor of the Apple Store in Singapore. It represents the artful thinking and the commitment to design and details at Apple.

2018-06-22   RAINFOREST IN SINGAPORE

The Cloud Forest near the Gardens at the Bay is an impressive building with a simulated rainforest-walk where a waterfall pours down over a high scarp. In this hall is sub-tropical climate and you have the feeling you are in a Jurassic-Park movie. Even your camera has to a acclimatize before you can start to shoot, lenses are full of dew after you enter this area with high humidity.

2018-04-03   SHOPPING CENTER IN SINGAPORE

This shopping center was near the Art and Science Museum in Singapore, a massive building with impressive architecture. Again I could use a parapet of the railing to place my Sony A7R II without a tripod. Ramparts are a solid tripod replacement which many shopping centers “offer.” Often these centers are an architectural marvel from which you should make a photo. Mostly the indoor lights are a bit dim, so the camera placement is essential to avoid blurry images.

2018-03-12   WALK OF THE LIGHT IN SINGAPORE

After a long walking tour through Singapore, my son Maro and I arrived at the Art & Science Museum 45 minutes before closing. Four different exhibitions were running; the remaining time was only sufficient for two. However, we entered and were impressed by that state of the art museum. The plastic-crystal walk of light illumination gathered my attention and was ready to shoot this art object.

2018-03-09   SHOPPING MARKET IN SINGAPORE

A shopping market within a shopping mall tries to cover the diverse needs of the customers. For those who want the communication, the advice and the interaction at a shopping experience, this little market is perfect.

2018-03-07   GATE TO LITTLE INDIA IN SINGAPORE

One of my favorite destinations to visit in Singapore was Little India. Walking around there, awakened my reminiscences of New Dheli, which I have visited the year before. My son accompanied me; we went into an emporium, which was utterly staffed, from electronics to apparel, from bedding to security locks, from food to snacks. After taking a mango drink, we took the main road, which was replete with fine jewelry shops. It was impressive, to see so much gold in the shopping windows.

2018-03-01   ESCALATORS IN SINGAPORE

Shooting in new modern buildings and shopping centers is one of my passions. I like the shiny metals of the escalators, the clean and reflective floors and the overall interior architecture.

2018-02-17   FLOWERS IN SINGAPORE

Walking out of the ArtScience Museum I saw that little water lake with waterlilies. I placed my camera to focus on the flower, to get that blurry background of the buildings and the mirroring of the scene in the still water. I was lucky that I could catch the sunset during the golden hour.  🙂

2018-02-15   GARDENS OF THE BAY IN BLUE

You have to go up on the 6th floor of the Marina Bay Sands and walk over a bridge to the observation deck. Be sure to be there half an hour before the lightning spectacle starts. The place gets crowded very fast, and some minutes before the start, there is a bit a turmoil where everyone takes his smartphone or camera and positions for shooting. However, I could defend my place and got cool photos of that area in many different colors. 🙂
