Tyrol

I didn’t know anything about Ernest Hemingway’s visit to Galtür in the Paznauntal, Tyrol. As I was waiting for a bus near the tourist information on a sign I saw the quotation “Wonderful country. The Silvretta.” (Ernest Hemingway, 1925), there was also a short story about his visit with some poetic rhymes. Then I did some Google research and found that he has written his novel “An Alpine Idyll” in Galtür. Very interesting…  then I immediately took a short drive outside and took some photos of Galtür.

Only an alpine brook can give you this kind of fresh water. It is always very cool, even in the hottest summer and so clear, that you can see every stone on the ground. If you can walk down and holding your feet into this water is a very refreshing experience, you will feel very good after this “bath”.

This should be on the wishlist of every cow, fresh, green and juicy grass. Here the environment is in perfect shape and is the source of organic milk and cheese. The whole valley looks like this and is surrounded and protected by high mountains which make sure that the grassy hills get enough rain for growing.

Can you imagine a wood where the trunks made from stainless steel, the branches and leaves made from steel wool and the blossoms made from crystals. It can be found in Wattens, Tyrol at the Swarovsky crystal world in the outdoor section. The whole exhibition is fascinating, a must see.

I often think, how mountains look cooler in color or in black and white. For this photo from Tyrol near Ischgl I have chosen b&w. I did this from the balcony of my hotel, really cool if you go out and have the mountains around you. The lens used was the Sony Zeiss 135 1.8.

Ischgl, the top event location of the alps, brought “MUSE in Concert” . About 20,000 people got onto the IDALP, a mountain plateau at 2300 meters. I think it’s the highgest concert location of the world. Last year there were “30 seconds to Mars”, the year before “Robbie Williams” and “Deep Purple” … But the action doesn’t stop with the concert, the whole town converts to a party zone … a must see.

Oft sind die Ausstellungsräume in den Swarovski Kristallwelten dunkel gehalten um die beleuchteten Exponate in den Vordergrund zu stellen. Verwendung eines Stativs ist nicht möglich, Blitz für diese Räumlichkeiten unbrauchbar, so bleibt nur Handheld mit hoher ISO-Zahl. Hier kommt dann die Sony A7S zum Einsatz.

Die Kristallwelten in Wattens sollten bei einem Besuch in Tirol fix eingeplant werden. Es bietet sich ein künstlerisches Technikgesamtkunstwerk das weltweit einzigartig ist. Es gab vor kurzem auch eine Erweiterung des Aussen-Parcours. Im Inneren wartet in jedem Raum ein neues Abenteuer mit unvergesslichen Eindrücken.
