2020-05-11  THE JAPANESE GARDEN IN DÖBLING

It’s like a Zen-experience walking through a Japanese garden—the typical plants combined with a little lake, a wooden bridge, and a Japanese tea house. I am lucky that my district Döbling, where I live in Vienna, has a Japanese garden which is open until 9 pm. The right time that you catch the blue hour for sure. The name of the garden is Setagayapark.

2020-05-10  LIFE ON THE RINGSTRASSE

Some passengers, some cyclists, hot sun, and asphalt. That’s afternoon life on the Ringstraße in Vienna. It is a nice pastime for me to photograph the scenes with the Leica.

2020-05-09  THE PLAZA OF THE MOSQUE

The Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Abu Dhabi was the most impressive mosque I had ever seen. The size, the styling, the art, and the impressions while walking around reminded me of a world wonder. The good thing, I was completely free to take photos. No hindrance.

2020-05-08  PASSAGE IN THE FIRST DISTRICT

Since traveling is on hold, I take my pictures mostly in Vienna. It has hidden treasures for a photographer. Often I concentrate on the subtle motives compared to the spectacular sights; every tourist is photographing. One step back is sometimes more for photos.

2020-05-07  CHILD AND PIGEONS

Pigeons in Venice, the classic of my childhood memories. All the more, I was thrilled when I was able to take a picture of this child who is just scaring the pigeons and having a lot of fun with it.

2020-05-05  THE LONG AND WINDING ROAD

The road on the photo was shot in Joshua Tree National Park. A sensational landscape with some unique rocks, flowers, and cacti. You can there stay over the night with a camping bus or a tent. My wife Karin and I were there on a road trip. That’s why I captured my love for the streets on the photo.

2020-05-03  CYCLING HAS STARTED

With the first lifts of the lockdown, cycling has started. The bike-lanes are crowded at the “Alte Donau”, which is a branch of the Danube. The beautiful weather helps. Let’s wait how this all works out, but in the end, I think we will be fine.

2020-05-02  ASSASSIN’S CREEDS CITY

Verona reminds me of walking through the medieval times of Assassin’s Creed. I think the creators must have visited the city and were so fascinated that they used is as a template for the game.

2020-05-01  FISH AND CHIPS IN LONDON

At my evening stroll, I was searching after some typical night scenes in London. Only a short walk from my hotel, I saw an area with some restaurants and snack bars. Perfect for a photo shooting tour before going to sleep. And what’s more English than a fish and chips store.

2020-04-30  THE FLAT LAND

Burgenland is the flattest state in Austria. Peaty soils and a Pannonian climate characterize the area around Lake Neusiedl. A quiet landscape without dramatic mountains, waterfalls, and exotic plants, which is reduced to a few colors and restrained accents.
