2020-04-26  CHURCH IN FRANCE

I think it was in Toulouse, where I could shoot photos inside of that marvelous church. In churches, you have to prepare the right settings for your photography, that the highlights don’t get too blown out, compared to the darker walls.

2020-04-25  TREES IN THE ANDRE HELLER GARDEN

The garden Anima lies about 30 minutes south of Marrakesh. My daughter Cara and I arrived about 45 minutes before closing time. So we had to enter fast. However, it was a fascinating experience. Andre Heller has designed a remarkable landscape with individual plants, trees, and watercourses.

2020-04-24  EVENING SPORTS IN BARCELONA

After turning into a few side streets, I saw this illuminated sports field, in the middle of the city, with a church in the background. I did not miss the opportunity to capture the scene in a photo. During the tour, I learned to appreciate the Leica X-Vario, very handy, and light also takes excellent photos in poor lighting conditions.

2020-04-22  THE WINDING STREETS OF ROME

You can often see these small winding streets in Italian cities with a medieval town center. In Rome, there are multi-story buildings that wind through areas of the city. This city still has many secrets that are not often mentioned.

2020-04-21  MAN IN MASADA

The man is standing near the abyss in Masada and looking at the horizon. A fortress that was located high on the mountain and offered unlimited views in all four directions.

2020-04-20  THE FIRST SHOPS HAVE OPENED IN AUSTRIA

The first steps to new normality have happened this week. Shops with up to 400 square meters are allowed to open, and a minimum distance must be observed. Face masks are mandatory, but in the meantime, you have got used to it. My wife and daughter were among the firs visitors.

2020-04-19  ENDLESS L.A.

You get this view from the Griffith Observatory. Getting there can be a bit of a hassle if a lot of people have the same idea because of traffic jams and crowded parking lots. Anyway, the view is fantastic; you can see an endless sea of lights, buildings, and streets as far as the eye can see.

2020-04-17  GIRL ON THE ESCALATOR

A girl is coming up from the metro in Barcelona. One of the photos of my one-hour-photo tour I could do between two meetings. Even on a business trip, you can gain some time for your hobbies.

2020-04-16  ANDREAS GURSKY EXHIBITION

The best photo exhibition I have seen so far. The Heathrow Gallery showed the oversized photos of Andreas Gursky. Very impressive, if you are standing in front of pictures which are 4-6 meters long. You can imagine the work behind such an image—complete peace of art, from the composition to framing and printing.

2020-04-15  THE DOLOMITES

I only knew the Dolomites from photos, stories, and the geography lesson at school. When I first stood in front of these mountain peaks last year, I was impressed. The mountain ranges stretch for many kilometers along the roads and paths. The rugged and jagged rocks bring a wild and romantic mood across—ideal for shooting mountain films and taking photos.
