2019-03-24 AUSTRIAN NATIONAL LIBRARY

You can expect such magnificent frescoes and ceilings in churches or castles. The Austrian Nationalbibliotek also houses these large ceiling frescoes in the “Prunksaal”, painted by court painter Daniel Gran. Locally you can see that many figures and elements were painted in 3D style, and this happened 300 years ago.

2019-03-23 WAITING FOR THE WATER BUS

I shot the beautiful sunset while waiting for a water bus at the Lido di Venezia. Hence life never gets annoying as a photographer. Most of the people waiting were looking at their smartphones, again and again. I was walking around and shot photos from the sunset, the horizon with Venice city far away, the Laguna with the boats and water buses. I ended with about a hundred unexpected pictures in my collection, which I photographed around the water bus station.

2019-03-22 BAR IN MUNICH

Motel One is a new, stylish hotel chain in Europe, mostly located in Germany and Austria. They have mastered to offer excellent pricing for well-designed hotels at top locations. As I visited a Fujitsu event in Munich, I stayed for two nights in a Motel One. I had the chance to experience the bar on the high floor with a broad view over Munich, at the balcony I made some handheld shots of the city. I had two Averna with ice and some funny conversations with Swiss account managers from Fujitsu.

2019-03-21 CANALS IN VENICE

Always ready for a snapshot, the constant changing action in Venice demands to be prepared with the camera in your hand. The city is old, worn, morbid, with crumbled plaster, rusty ironed grids, some great restaurants, and some tourist traps, this city is an art-masterpiece in large magnitude.

2019-03-20 VIEW FROM MASADA

The ancient fortification of Masada is a singularity in the area between the Dead Sea and the mountains behind. Built on a 400-meter rock, you can either choose to walk up or take the cable car. Once you reached the summit, the view is spectacular. You see the rugged mountains in the backyard, the lowlands with crusts of salt from and the Dead Sea in Eastern direction.

2019-03-19 THEME PARK IN TOKYO

I shot the photo from Tokyo Dome and its accompanied theme park from a parachute simulation attraction. The height was about 50 meters; I took the photo handheld at the top. Photo-cameras were not allowed, so I smuggled the camera with me. 🙂

2019-03-18 SKATER IN BORDEAUX

I always admire the kids in the skate parks. They are so flexible and fast when doing their acrobatic figures. It’s a sub-culture with unique clothing and music, designed to bring new athletic levels and hype to spectators and the social media channels. When I am on the cross-trainer in the fitness center, on the TV-screens, they often show skating or mountain-bike competitions. As I drove on an E-Bike in Bordeaux, I stopped immediately and shot some photos of the young guys.

2019-03-17 RED FORT IN INDIA

I have seen two Red Forts in India, one in Delhi, the other in Agra. Though I don’t know, which fort is on the Photo, each of them is worth a visit. Colossal buildings with big walls all built from red stone. Also a big attraction for the Indians, in Agra there were thousands of Indian tourists in line for entering. Inside there are vast parks and many impressive buildings in Indian style.
