2018-05-06   SWAROVKSI SHOP WINDOW

Yesterday evening I was walking with my wife Karin in the first district city center of Vienna. First, we visited a rooftop bar with the hope, to get some cool city shots, but the view wasn’t exciting enough. Then we looked at the shop windows in the Kärnter Straße. We were impressed by the decorations of the Swarovski Crystal World shop, it gathered attention from all passengers, artfully decorated.

2018-05-05   CHAPEL IN EDINBURGH

I got the info form our landlord during breakfast. He recommended going to Rosslyn Chapel which would only be 15 minutes away from the hotel. Although it wasn’t on my list, I took planned the visit and was excited about the building. One of the top spots in Edinburgh, it was the chapel you can see in the movie “Da Vinci Code” with Tom Hanks.

2018-05-03   WATERSHOW BURJ KHALIFA

After a guardian warned me off the grounds because I was photographing with a tripod, I returned to a hand-held session. I was lucky that I reached the right time when the water show in front of the Burj Khalifa started. I had to go back many meters so that I could get the whole tower in the photo. No easy task with the height of 828 meters.

2018-05-02   MALL IN DUBAI

Even the shopping malls in Dubai are an attraction, spacious with many levels and hundreds of shops make the heart beat faster for shopping addicts. I took the opportunity to shoot wide-angle photos which represent the dimension of these malls. And another goodie, the parking is free, no fees to pay. 🙂

2018-05-01   PIAZZA SAN MARCO IN THE NIGHT

I read the news today, Venice is overcrowded, they made turnstiles to keep the flood of tourists in check. I can recommend going there on 2nd January. The weather is a bit colder but ok, and tourists are manageable. The only disadvantage for a photographer, the sky is mostly grey. For my photo-session I was out at about 11 pm, most cafes close at that time. It gave a unique feel and look of Piazza San Marco.

My wife Karin had the window seat, I sat on the middle. However, I could manage to shoot some photos through the plane window. The weather was beautiful, London appeared in its full extent before our eyes.

The Africa Days brought some cultural and culinary highlights. Many tents where clothing, masks, necklaces, and bongo-drums were offered. The food was refined with exotic spices and colorful sauces. In the background, you could hear rhythmic drum and bass music.

2018-04-28   CHURCH IN SPRING

At a walking tour in Weissenkirchen, a little village in Lower Austria, I did that shot of the church which dates back to the 13th century. Since I had lower back pain, which resulted from some exercises in the fitness center, my camera of the day was Leica X Vario, which is easy to carry with an exceptional photo quality.

On the left side of the St. Stephen’s Cathedral there is the fiacre parking place. Many tourists choose these vehicles for a tour through the first district in Vienna. For me, it was a nice photo shot during a walking tour in the city.
