2016-08-01 FROM HONG KONG TO TOKYO
Often the waiting time at the airports gets a bit boring. Sometimes you have the luck to see cool architecture and a view directly to the airplanes outside as happened here at the Hong Kong International Airport. Then it’s a good idea, if you have your photo equipment with you so that you can grab your photo bag, take out your camera and begin to shoot.

2016-07-31 THE GRACES OF HEARST CASTLE
The only way to go to Hearst Castle is by a visitors bus which brings you via serpentines to that amazing castle. From arrival time until leave it’s a never ending photo journey. Statues, in door and out door pools with impressing mosaic tiles, pillars, ornamented windows, a botanical garden …

2016-07-28 HOUSE DESIGNED BY HUNDERTWASSER
In Austria there is a thermal spring with spa und hotel called Bad Blumau. The interesting thing is, that the whole area and accommodations have been designed by the artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser, this is a real unique style and a real pleasure to have vacation there. No rooms or hallways are straight, all a bit wavy and skewed … 🙂

2016-07-27 LION KING MADE OF STONE
I am completely unaware if this has been made from a big brick or block of stone and crafted with hammer and chisel or a mason helped out and took a trowel and added concrete in an artfully way. However it looks good and represents the king of all animals.

2016-07-26 HEMINGWAY VISITED GALTÜR
I didn’t know anything about Ernest Hemingway’s visit to Galtür in the Paznauntal, Tyrol. As I was waiting for a bus near the tourist information on a sign I saw the quotation “Wonderful country. The Silvretta.” (Ernest Hemingway, 1925), there was also a short story about his visit with some poetic rhymes. Then I did some Google research and found that he has written his novel “An Alpine Idyll” in Galtür. Very interesting… then I immediately took a short drive outside and took some photos of Galtür.

2016-07-25 MALTA AND THE SHIPS
Some parts of Gzira, Malta have big sea parking lots for all kinds of ships and boats. Since the whole island is surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea no wonder that the boat is the most desired vehicle beside a car. Add steady sunny weather and the time is always right for boat trips.

2016-07-24 SCHÖNBRUNN PALACE FROM ACROSS THE STREET
Schönbrunn is one of the most photographed sights in Vienna. So I tried to take a photo from a bit unusual place, across the street on my knees in squat position in twilight. I used my Sigma 35mm 1.4 with the LA-EA4 adapter on my Sony A7R.
