The nocturnal life in Marrakech is crowding the market. From fresh dates to grill skewers, from dishes to carpets, you get everything you would expect from an oriental market. The site’s sheer size with the many stands, most of which are raised, is fascinating.

2021-09-12 RUNNING IN THE PARK
The Türkenschanzpark is a famous running track for the Viennese in the 19th district. The park’s name comes from the Turkish sieges; at this point, the Viennese troops repulsed the attack, and the Turks then had to withdraw. My wife Karin is the active runner in the photo.

2021-09-10 BUS STATION IN NAPLES
While I was waiting for the RedBus tour bus to leave, I was able to take some photos of the area. This man had recognized that hats protect against the extreme heat in Naples. He was always ready with his booth after a bus stopped.

2021-09-08 THE GARDEN OF THE BELVEDERE PALACE
Extensive gardens surround the Belvedere Palace. This spacious garden in Schönbrunn style extends into the 3rd district of Vienna. The castle lies backward and is surrounded on the opposite side by a garden with a pond. A good location for a 2-3 hour photo session. A joy shooting such photos with the Leica M10.

2021-09-01 THE GUARDIANS IN ATHENS
If you want to see the changing of the guard in front of the parliament in Athens, I recommend the evening hours. The lighting combined with the ritual of disciplined steps and the guards in the shade brings an additional sophistication to the procedure.

2021-08-30 HAMBURG SPEICHERSTADT
The Speicherstadt in Hamburg consists of large brick buildings crossed by canals. I stopped at many of the bridges and took photos from there. It is always good to strengthen yourself beforehand with a fried fish, a typical specialty in Hamburg.

2021-08-28 THE CLOUDS OVER THE NORTH SEA
The photo shows the sky over the North Sea in Sylt. The unique pink colors give the impression that the midnight sun is reflected in the clouds. That is a spectacle where you can spend the whole day, waves, spray, and stormy clouds over the North Sea.

2021-08-24 RELAXING IN THE PARK
The picture shows a typical Sunday afternoon in the Stadtpark in Vienna. When the sun is shining, the meadows fill up, picnics and entertainment are the order of the day. I then bring the everyday scenes in photo formats that stand out from smartphone snapshots.
