2021-03-24 BREATHING SOME FRESH AIR

I wondered whether the trees were set so densely or whether it was a natural growth. The Vienna Woods is a popular excursion destination in north-east Vienna with a large variety of trees.

2021-03-23 WAITING FOR MARIOS

I waited for my colleague Marios at Syntagma Square. There was little traffic due to the lockdown. So I got to the meeting point 20 minutes earlier. I used that to take pictures of the area, like here the way across Syntagma Square.

2021-03-22 PALMENHAUS VIENNA

The name Palmenhaus (Palm House) comes from the exotic palms placed in the heated indoor halls. The construction of the glasshouse is full metal with glass windows and iron bridges and viaducts inside. For the photo, I used my Leica M10 as a DSLR. With the Leica R to M adapter and the Leica Vario Elmar 35-70 F4 lens, you have a telephoto glass on a Leica M. Though you cannot use the rangefinder because you have to use focus peaking.

2021-03-21 THE WILD DOLOMITES

The Dolomites are a wild mountain range, jagged rocks, and raw stone dominate. I shot this photo on the way to the “Tre Cime di Lavaredo.” A drizzle had already started; we weren’t put off and could still fill our photo album.

2021-03-19 BORDEAUX SKATER

I liked the long walk along the Garonne. Many different things to explore, skate parks, musicians, snack bars, and the river. My wife fell in love with the city, so I had ample time to shoot photos.

2021-03-17 THE LAKES OF CANADA

The lakes around Huntsville were flat, large, and blue. The adjacent land was very flat with deciduous trees. On the whole, the view was unspectacular but still impressive with its touch of endless size.

2021-03-16 THE NEXT CITY WHERE I WAIT FOR THE AWAKENING

It’s a bit grotesque when the city is full of tourists; you groan at the crowd. But now, completely extinct, it’s not the Venice we know. So we are waiting for the return to the old greatness.

2021-03-15 THE CANALS OF AMSTERDAM

I am looking forward to revisiting Amsterdam. Currently, it’s not possible, but I think I could go in the fall. My daughter will begin to study there, so my visits will be more frequent—one of my favorite cities for walking around with a camera.

2021-03-14 SUN OVER THE MEDITERRANEAN SEA

Sometimes unbelievable what the sun can do. In Malta, the whole Mediterranean Sea gets dipped in red light; you can feel the warmth of the sun. No land or mountains interrupt the horizon; the next island Sicily is hundreds of miles away. The photo was shot from the outdoor deck of the Palace Hotel.
