2020-01-07  ON THE WAY TO THE CINEMA

Even with the vast offer of Netflix and Amazon Video, I like to go to the cinema. Since I grew up with the cinema, where the TV program was limited, I like the feeling of sitting in the broad chairs looking at the big screen and waiting for the film to start. On the photo is the entry of the Gartenbau-Kino in Vienna.

2020-01-06  VILLAGE IN THE ATLAS MOUNTAINS

I was surprised that there is a road that leads so far into the mountains. We followed the path after Imlil and were up to 3000 meters in a short time. We had a fantastic panorama of the Atlas mountains, and I was able to take home some impressive mountain photos.

2020-01-05  MARKET IN GOOD OLD VIENNA

New markets are constantly being found in the popular “Am Hof” square. After Christmas came the New Year’s market, which is then replaced by a farmers’ market. I like going there with my wife on a Sunday, you get delicious snacks and the area is always good for a photo shooting.

2020-01-04  THE WAITING ROOM

I always like to visit train stations and was surprised when I got into the waiting area of the San Diego train station. You felt like you were transported back in time. The decoration was art deco and the old benches were made of wood. This gave the waiting hall a flair that reminded us of the time when the train was still the primary form of transportation.

2020-01-03  THE CANALS OF VENICE

I am often surprised at the overall picture that the canals and buildings in Venice create. A mixture of art galleries and impressionist painting. I added the photo to my favorite collection.

2020-01-01  NEW YEAR’S EVE IN EDINBURGH

Hogmanay in Edinburgh is the big New Year’s celebration. The New Year’s Trail is a spectacle of stages with musicians, parties, food trucks, and the illumination of the buildings and the sky. The classical highlight is the firework. Joy is taking photos there.

2019-12-31  TOWN HALL PARK IN VIENNA

After the weekend purchases at the food market Naschmarkt, we stopped at the town hall park. I enjoy half our walking and getting fresh air on a Saturday afternoon. My son Maro was with me, and he had the patience to pose for some photos. I tried to get the face lighted with different artificial lights coming from an advertising sign and a colorful street lamp.

2019-12-29  STREETS OF VERONA

Some parts of the streets and alleys are made of marble in Verona. This city should be on the top 10 list of cities to visit in Italy. I stopped there on the way to Cinque Terre for a night of rest because I had a 700 kilometers drive by car from Vienna to Verona. My time there was to short to catch that many photo opportunities, which I saw.

2019-12-27  JERUSALEM AT CHRISTMAS

After leaving the old town, I saw that three-level building with Christmas motives in each of its windows. A nice add-on to the mixed culture- and religion city of Jerusalem.

2019-12-26  SAY ‘HOHOHO’

An electrical Santa Claus was hanging between the walls, as seen in an alley in Venice. I was never at Christmas time in Venice, but even at begin of January, the Christmas decorations are still set up.
