2019-06-10 NIGHTLY WALK IN VENICE

My favorite activity in Venice, walking through the streets at night. After every corner, on the bridges always new surprises and photo opportunities. Better not to put the camera in the camera bag, you will always have it at the ready.

2019-06-08 BARCELONA STREET

Barcelona brought me many ideas for new compositions of photography. The architecture harmonizes with the scenes on the street. There I never stopped shooting photos. 🙂

2019-06-07 RAILWAY STATION MILANO CENTRALE BLACK AND WHITE

I like the flair of old Italian railway stations. They remind me of Italian movies from Federico Fellini or Vittorio de Sica. Going through the halls and looking at the hectic life of the crowd, some organized chaos. Some travelers have long train journeys; others take the suburban train to their hometown. Everyone smells the scent of the tracks and the oil on the edge of the rails.

2019-06-06 THE FIRST DAY OF THE CARNIVAL

How to attend the opening party of the Carnival in Venice? It starts on a specific canal, best to let Google maps show you the way. To get a perfect view, you have to sit down on the embankment of the canal. The time was about 4 pm when we positioned ourselves; then we had to wait nearly 4 hours sitting on the cold stone and concrete ground with the feet swinging over the water. If you leave your place, the next waiting guests will occupy it. That’s the price you pay, for sitting in the front row. Remembering back, I can tell you, it’s worth to watch that great spectacle without hindrance.

2019-06-05 THE BEGIN OF SOMETHING BIG

I wasn’t aware that there is an Apple Museum in the city of Prague. So I was surprised and attended the exhibition. You can see the first Apple computer prototype designed by Steve Wozniak, the photo above shows it. And the complete history of all Macs until the newest iPhone are exhibited. Even the Apple Newton and the first Apple laser printer are there. For me one of Prague’s biggest attractions.

2019-06-04 THE SUNLIGHT IN MY HOTEL ROOM

Two days in Malta, the Palace Hotel with the balcony and the warm sunlight filling the room. Malta lies south of Sicily; you can expect warm to mild weather the whole year.

2019-06-03 THE ARTISTIC CEILING

From time to time my wife Karin and I visit a castle on Sunday afternoon. Since most of the tourists are steady-smartphone shooters, I try to differentiate and search for unique angles for my photos. And I want to bring specific details and compositions on the photos.

2019-06-02 MY DAUGHTER ON THE ROOFTOP BAR

There are rare moments when I am on a rooftop bar with my daughter. I used the opportunity to take a photo with my Leica M-240. I nailed the focus relatively fast and got a beautiful picture with the smooth bokeh of the Summicron F2 50mm lens.

2019-06-01 NO, THAT’S NOT AMSTERDAM

In Vienna, I see more and more hemp-stores growing rapidly. The store’s location on the photo is the first district, where rental fees are very high. So it must be a good business. Since THC is not legal by now, most of the products are CBD-based. I tried a CBD-cake and can tell you very relaxing.

2019-05-31 EVENING IN BARCELONA

The warm evening sun fills this plaza in Barcelona. I had two hours waiting time for dinner with my colleagues, where I explored the surroundings with my camera. I was ready for street-photography and was happy about the many scenes that were offered me.
