2017-11-14  VIENNA TOWN HALL NIGHT SHOT

The Vienna Town Hall is a historically valuable building. It lies at a lovely park. One of the recommended sights when you visit Vienna. Currently, there is construction work on the town hall place. The Christmas market is in the making. The opening party is on 17th November. Then it’s more than one month time for celebrating the pre-Christmas period.  🙂

2017-11-13  ASIAN GIRL IN MILAN

Milan, a diverse city with many Asian tourists and residents. My city-walking-photography tour brought me to small alleyways, narrow streets, and little bars and restaurants. I saw this walking girl by accident. I was ready to shoot at the right time. Luckily, I had my zoom lens with me. Without you often don’t have the time for changing lenses or bodies, for street photography, I prefer zooms.

2017-11-12  SUN BEHIND THE MOUNTAINS

I saw many photographers and tourists come and go during my session on the observation tower at the Pyramidenkogel (“wooded pyramid mountain”). Armed with my tripod, I had to wait for the decisive moment. The fluctuations of the wooden floor, bred by walking visitors, spread over to my placed tripod. Especially with long exposures, it got tricky. I had to wait for quiet moments. This was one of the reasons why I was more than two hours on the tower. The other reason was this great sun, which sunk behind the mountains. Heaven and mountains got a shining, yellow light. A real nature spectacle. 🙂

2017-11-11  HORSES RACE TRACK IN HONG KONG

The stadium of a famous sport in Hong Kong, Horse Racing. I shot that photo from the high deck of a RedBus line motorbus. I used every stop at a red light or traffic jam to get shake-free photos. It’s one of my preferred city tour expeditions, sitting on the open air deck with my camera in hand. Walking a dozen miles every day with the photo gear gives you pain after two or three days, even packed with mirrorless cameras, like the Sony E series.

2017-11-10  ART MILE ON THE BOARDWALK

A prominent art exhibition on the boardwalk at Velden am Wörthersee. Dozens of booths with fancy artifacts, often created by unknown artists. An exclusive exhibition tour, going from one box to the next, talking with the artists, shooting photos and have a good time.

2017-11-09  SNOWY MOUNTAINS FROM A GLACIER

On a glacier, height over 3.000 meters, the air has a particular breath. It’s clear, clean and lighter. The view is excellent with the sunny weather; I could take shots from different mountain chains. Here the Silvretta Arena in Tyrol. I didn’t have skis with me, that day was reserved for photo shooting. I was the only person on the top with winter shoes under all the skiers. I walked around on the snow plateau of the Greitspitz, where downhill on the left side is Switzerland and Austria on the right.

2017-11-08  BERLIN ARCHITECTURE

What did I like most about Berlin? The architecture and the Currywurst.  🙂  Both went hand in hand, photographing the modern buildings with a Leica X2 camera, eating at a wurst stand and drinking cold beer. That’s Germany!  😎

2017-11-07  CHAPEL IN A CASTLE

By walking on the first floor in Castle Grafenegg and looking at the garden & design exhibition, I saw that little chapel at an inconspicuous place, at the end of the exhibition path, where usually no one goes. It is remarkable how often you discover such hidden treasures in old castles. That’s the reason why each visit is a photographic journey for me. 🙂

2017-11-06  THE BIG LAKE

The Lake Neusiedl, a big steppe lake between Hungary and Austria, the blue sky with the glowing sun, a beach bar and some boats at anchor. These are the ingredients for an atmospheric chill-out photo. Coming together for a pleasant Sunday afternoon with some friends. Drink at the bar, ordering Averna on the rocks or Aperol Spritz. Shooting pictures and renting an electric boat to explore the reed belt which seams the shore, that’s relaxing.  😎

2017-11-05  WORLD OF DAIMONDS

At first glance, you might think you are at an art exhibition. Illuminated glass stars designed by a younger artist in a contemporary gallery? But I shot this photo in the elevator cab of the Tokyo Sky-tree tower. 🙂  It brings you to the observation deck on 450 m (1,480 ft).  There you get a great view of Tokyo in all four cardinal directions. And the cab interior is the attunement for something great to come.
