2017-09-06  HIGH SPEED TRAIN IN JAPAN

Standing at a train station near Mount Fuji, waiting for the train to Tokyo, suddenly a Shinkansen thunders with high speed through the train station. The intermediate trails reserve the transit traffic. You hear the Shinkansen roaring, then you see him coming, and some seconds later he has disappeared. Wow!!  😎

2017-09-05  THE BIG WAY UP TO GLORIETTE IN SCHÖNBRUNN

The view from the castle brings you the full splendor of the gardens and beauty of the Gloriette. On the ground of all the ways up lies gravel, which brings you gray, dusty shoes until you reach the peak of the hill. 🙂  I made this experience with black leather shoes, which I had on during the walk. Because I was not preparing for this visit; I even wore business clothes, this all happened by accident.

2017-09-04  MOSQUE IN ISTANBUL

This colorful ceiling of this mosque in Istanbul showed how detailed and elaborated these mosaics are. I think the building time must have lasted many years to bring it to that level, with great workers and architects behind. For this relatively low light environment I used my Sony A7S, the “King of Low Light”.

2017-09-03  AFRICAN DAYS

The African Days is an event on the Danube Island in Vienna, with food trucks, market stalls and two live concerts per day. I filmed the band “Black Prophet” on stage, it was entertaining, rhythmic music. I had my Sony A7R, Sony LA-EA4 adapter and the A-mount Sony Zeiss 135mm 1.8 lens with me, did handheld filming during the night with auto-focus, which I fixed with the focus-lock button on the lens.

2017-09-02  OIL PUMP IN THE FIELD

Oil in central Europe is scarce, in Lower Austria, in an area called Marchfeld, you can find some oil pumps in the middle of the agricultural landscape. These pumps get operated by the OMV, are very silent during pumping. As I was a kid, I was there with my bike looking at it, going up and down, up and down. Now I take photos with my quad copter DJI Phantom 4 Pro.  🙂

2017-09-01  TAJ MAHAL WEST SIDE

I looked from a different angle when shooting one of the most photographed monuments on earth. I had the sun on the higher frame, the Taj Mahal in the middle and some Indian people on the right standing that tiled floor. With the wide angle lens, this gives a new composition which I like. If you are on that site where I did the photo you have already walking socks on your feet because entry to the Taj Mahal is only allowed without shoes to protect the monument. The correct strategy to keep that building protected for the generations to come.

2017-08-31  COOL KIDS IN STOCKHOLM

You can use the Stockholm Pass also for a boat tour, (one of the many attractions included) so I did. There I saw those cool kids with sunglasses and headphones, listening and shaking to the rhythm of the music.  🙂

2017-08-30  THE METAL CONSTRUCTION WALK IN VIENNA

Between the shipping pier for the Bratislava hovercraft and the stylish restaurant “Motto at the River” you have to walk on that metal construction way. That’s one of the newer buildings at the Danube canal in Vienna. From time to time I go there and have a cocktail at the bar. A great view of the water channel and the Schwedenplatz-bridge awaits you, which connects second with the first district of Vienna.

2017-08-29  STONES IN THE PINNACLE NATIONAL PARK

The hot walk in the Pinnacle National Park reminded me of older episodes of the Star Trek series, with William Shatner as Captain James T. Kirk. The landscape in the park looked similar as some planets where the crew of the Enterprise got beamed. The stones looked surreal, as the card box stones which made the movie sets. A walking adventure at 40 C / 105 F on dusty, stony paths in that “Star Trek adventure land.” 🙂

2017-08-28  LIGHTENING IN VELDEN

Carinthia with the lovely Wörther See and the little town Velden, the perfect summer location for spending some days and relax. The mild weather in the evening combined with the soft lightening of the buildings as here in the photo the Gamonaplatz, bring you sweet vacations. The beaches of the Wörther See (Wörther Lake) consist of smooth, green grass; the water has drinking water quality. Fish and ducks are swimming there, and for some fun, you can rent a motor boat with tires, with which you get towed high speed over the water. You have to fight to stay within the tire and need all your hand grip power. If it happens that you get thrown into the water, it can burn a bit, like a belly-flop.  🙂
