2018-08-15   VIEW FROM TELEVISION TOWER IN PRAGUE

By | 2018-08-14T20:37:26+00:00 August 14th, 2018|Prague|

The Zizkov Television Tower reminded me of the architecture in the Eastern European countries during the communist area. It was built between 1985 and 1992 and has a metal design with more levels as a viewing area. One of the highlights in Prague, it brings you great views in all cardinal directions, and you can see the city until the end of the horizon.

Prague is a coveted destination in the photo community. Correctly, you will find many enjoyable photo-spots. Try to get on an exhibition which ends on a roof or visit a tower where you can take shots of the rooftops and beautiful churches.

2018-05-26   PRAGUE SHOPPING CENTRE

By | 2018-05-26T16:01:13+00:00 May 26th, 2018|Prague|

Back from San Francisco with jet-lag, I have processed this photo shot inside a shopping center in Prague. After arriving at the hotel and bringing the suitcases into the room, I walked with my wife out of the hotel. We wanted a coke-light and entered the shopping center. I looked after a handrail where I could place my camera and shot some photos from the third floor.

2018-05-12   NIGHT IN THE CITY OF PRAGUE

By | 2018-05-10T16:53:03+00:00 May 12th, 2018|Prague|

Walking through cities in the night is one of my hobbies. I like the lights in different colors, the illuminated buildings and some cafes and bars where I can walk in for a drink. In one hand a camera, over the shoulder the second camera and always ready to catch some pictures. At the same time, I have to be an entertaining companion for my wife. 🙂

2018-04-08   A PLACE TO REST IN PRAGUE

By | 2018-04-08T13:37:21+00:00 April 8th, 2018|Prague|

After the long walk through Prague Castle, you can take a seat at those white park benches. The location is short before the exit on the left, the direction to the Prague Castle Cafe, where you have to climb some stairs upwards and then you reach that area. It’s always interesting to find some spots which are not on the usual tourist walks.

2018-04-06   HOUSES IN THE CITY PRAGUE

By | 2018-04-04T20:27:54+00:00 April 6th, 2018|Prague|

The symmetric house-fronts with the orange-ocher or brown colors are typical for Prague. I took the photo from the end of the Charles Bridge, after which you come into the old town.

2018-03-31   CHARLES BRIDGE IN PRAGUE – THE PHOTO HOT SPOT

By | 2018-03-30T16:49:41+00:00 March 31st, 2018|Prague|

The most famous photo hot-spot in Prague is the Charles Bridge and its surroundings. You should try to get upstairs into one of the towers; there you can take the shots from above. Be careful with your time; they close at about 8 pm. I was lucky, that not too many tourists were on their way. I wouldn’t recommend a standard tripod because the place is limited on the towers. A mini-tripod is enough; you can place it between the embrasures and keep the camera better under control. The worst what could happen will be if a passenger brushes the tripod during a multi-exposure shot.

2018-03-18   VIEW FROM THE CHARLES BRIDGE

By | 2018-03-17T13:42:10+00:00 March 18th, 2018|Prague|

The Charles Bridge has broader concrete handrails where you can place a (mini)-tripod easily. So did I to use my Sony A7S and the Rokinon 14mm AF 2.8 E-mount lens to capture the lightning since from the next bridge and to get the desired wide-angel view. Prague is an exciting city during the night, many parts shine in colorful lights, and many headlights make additional illumination effects.

2018-03-10   WINDOW IN PRAGUE CASTLE

By | 2018-03-09T17:52:18+00:00 March 10th, 2018|Prague|

You can prepare for a more extended walking tour of Prague Castle. It’s the largest ancient castle in the world, with about 70,000 square meters (750,000 square feet). Even the Czech president lives there. After leaving a bigger ballroom, I saw that craft-fully built ceiling with that shiny window at the exit. Right time for a photo!
