For this shot, I tried to take it a bit different, not from the standard visitors area, but rather from a wooden staircase which leads to the restaurant behind.So the whole viewing area got a bit wider to capture this fantastic panorama.
This year I tried to visit the Vienna Auto show early, I have been there at about 9 am. Even at this time there was slow traffic and parking only possible at the third floor and up, so many people. Many new models, like Land Rover Discovery, the new VW Golf, new Ford Edge, Mercedes GLC Coupe, Tesla Model X, I took photos of some exotic ones, which you will not see on the streets very often 🙂 … Bugatti and Rolls-Royce
The new extension of the Swarovski Crystal World brings an exciting park area outside. A labyrinth formed like a hand, alpine brook, modern buildings and a forest made from steel and glass.
Since taking photos in the Albertina gallery is forbidden, I smuggled my little Nikon Coolpix A inside, to take some hidden photos 🙂 I think many of the galleries are worried about the flashes, but they don’t know that many cameras can make superior photos without flash, even inside. After my visit I got this nice angle of the Vienna State Opera where I took this nightly shot without tripod.
January morning in Venice, cold, foggy, grey – an atmosphere which describes winter months. I was the second time in Venice in a January and like it most during this time. Not so many people, you don’t have too long lines at the different sights, hotels are a bit cheaper and this nice atmosphere. 🙂
After passing the Gotthard Pass we got hungry and found a place to eat in Andermatt. It’s some kind of ski resort in the winter and you can see intense construction activity in the summer months. After the typical Swiss food we took a little walk through the streets to get fit again for the journey to Lucerne.
What makes a Japanese Garden so attractive? For me the stone sculptures, the little curved bridges, the pond with koi carps and the neat bushes and trees. All in all a real feel good environment, 100% recommended.
Since we heard via radio that there would be a 2 hours waiting time through the Gotthard Road Tunnel we have chosen to take the street over the Gotthard Pass. We were rewarded with a beautiful view of the surrounding valleys and could breath fresh, cool mountain air. And I took time to shoot some photos of the peak…
An older man playing on a barrel organ is always an eye catcher for the younger and older ones, especially if the organ is in such a good shape as on this photo and the person behind looks and behaves like the typical organ player.
It was a bit of challenge to take this photo, because even in the begin of January Piazza San Marco and the surroundings are crowded by many tourists and many don’t see or recognize that you are taking photos with a tripod and run through your exposure in all directions. So I had to wait for the specific moment … I used the Sony FE 10-18 F4 APS-C lens, which works very well on full frame 🙂
