2021-02-21 FRENCH CITY WITH TRAM RAILS

Beware of the tram rails that meander through the city, suddenly the tram comes towards you and you have to swerve quickly. It happened to me during the day.

2021-02-12 TREES IN FRANCE

During our Tour de France, I liked to shoot the “little things.” Streets, trees, everyday scenes are often more interesting than sights. With these beautiful trees in the photo, I often think nature is the best.

2021-02-07 FRENCH PALACE

On the Tour de France with my wife, the French palaces were always a fixed destination. The spacious buildings with the rough stonework exerted a particular fascination as here in Avignon.

2021-01-18 PALAIS DES PAPES IN AVIGNON

The Pope Palace in Avignon had the most innovative tour I know. Equipped with a tablet capable of augmented reality, you could walk through the premises and, if necessary, take part in what was happening in the past. At certain checkpoints, a new world from medieval times opened up on the tablet.

2020-12-16 NIGHT IN BORDEAUX

There was a lot of activity in the main square of Bordeaux. People had parties on the lawn, dancing in public, and looked at the illuminated landmarks.

2020-07-14 BRIDGE IN TOULOUSE

The impressive bridges in Toulouse invite you to cross. Even if the opposite side is not the real goal, you want to go over there. The artistic lighting fixtures give the bridges an additional touch. Lingering in the middle and looking at the river is a relaxing end to the day.

2020-07-07 THE BIG TOWER IN A FRENCH CITY

I was on the way from Cognac to the Atlantic coast with my wife when we decided to take a break for refreshment. This great city with the medieval tower welcomed us. A butcher offered French ham. We bought it and sat on the park bench and were able to inspect this majestic building. When the rain started we were finished and continued our journey.

2020-06-15 THE FLAIR OF THE FRENCH ALLEYS

Some bars, restaurants, dim lightning, the old alleys of French cities like here in Bordeaux have a unique flair. Hopping between the pubs and letting all have a good time. I shot this photo at my first half roundtrip through France, starting in Nantes and ending in Nice.

2020-06-14 ENTRY TO THE WINE GARDENS OF THE MEDOC

The photo shows the flat landscape of the Medoc, the large area where the Bordeaux wine grows. It is fascinating to see the endless grapevines perfectly aligned. Chalets, wine gardens, streets, that’s the Medoc. If you are there, don’t forget to attend a wine tasting.

2020-04-26  CHURCH IN FRANCE

I think it was in Toulouse, where I could shoot photos inside of that marvelous church. In churches, you have to prepare the right settings for your photography, that the highlights don’t get too blown out, compared to the darker walls.
