2018-04-22   NEW YORK WEST SIDE

Standing on the Rockefeller observation deck, I made shots in all four cardinal directions. I wanted to have New York shots without the Empire State Building also because New York offers excellent views wherever your glimpse lands. I shot The photo in this post without a tripod and higher iso, which is sufficient for many darker shots, mainly if there is strong crowding on the deck.

2018-04-07   TOWER IN AMSTERDAM

Amsterdam, the bicycle city, with skewed houses, the canals, the bridges and the coffee shops. I would recommend renting a bike then you can plunge more in-depth into the Amsterdamer street life. You’ll profit from the many bicycle-highways, the faster arrival at the sights and the joy of doing exercise in fresh air. If you stop for a coffee or cold drink, don’t forget the bike lock, you’ll find it on any parked bike, often it’s built from solid iron-chains.

2018-04-04   INSIDE A HOTEL IN PRAGUE

Prague is a city with unique characters, have a look at the bridges, streets, buildings, and hotels. A picturesque scenery, where you won’t give your camera out of hand. I took this photo on the first floor of the Hotel Imperial, the levels have thick carpets, the doors to the room and the door-frames consist of massive wood. Windows are in art nouveau – style.

2018-02-05   ISTANBUL. HOTEL

I was happy with my hotel stay in Istanbul. Near the Hagia Sofia, in the old town, only a walking distance to many attractions. A perfect fit for my family and me. Always I shoot photos of the interior and the corridors of the hotels, where I stay. Like this new, chrome hallway.

2018-01-30   HOUSE IN ST GALLEN

Beneath the Swiss cheese and Swiss chocolate, I found many of the houses and buildings in Switzerland have a unique style. Clean lines, unobtrusive adornments, a timeless overall architectural impression.

2018-01-28   VENICE FROM ST MARK’S CAMPANILE

It’s a good idea to visit Venice in January. The weather is ok for sightseeing, and the best, the long lines at the entrances of the famous sights are much shorter. For going up to St. Mark’s Campanile I had to wait only about 15 minutes. On the top, you have a great view of Venice in all four cardinal directions. The weather was not sunny at all, slightly grey and rainy, but it didn’t stop me from taking photos of the roofs and buildings of this great city.

2018-01-09   THE DOME EDINBURGH

Waiting for the reservation, …  The Dome in Edinburgh is a restaurant, cafe, and bar. An artfully decorated building out- and inside. It’s a tourist hotspot, what is a “good” thing in that case. Shooting pictures is welcomed, nobody is bothered by it. Patience is required, to get the right people on your photo.  🙂

2018-01-08   BURANO IN BLACK AND WHITE

Burano is that famous Italian fishermen’s village with the house facades painted in red, yellow, blue and green, which makes it predestinated for color photos. But in this case, I got a bit too much noise. Then it’s a good idea to make it black and white, where the noise doesn’t harm and often adds to the impression and style of the scenery.

2017-12-18   THE WALL OF MDINA

Mdina is an old(built in 8th century BC), historical town in Malta with a population of 3oo. Surrounded by that massive city wall, for which an extensive reservation was undertaken in the last years. Mdina got some prominence in the Game of Thrones community. Some episodes have been filmed there. The Mdina gate and the Pjazza, Mesquita were shooting spots.

2017-12-14   THE HILLS OF THE ALPINE UPLAND

The alpine upland is starting with hills and woods. Then it transitions to mountains of about 2000 meters, where the real Alps have arrived. The mountain chains lead to the Grossglockner, the highest peak of Austria with 3,798 m (12,461 ft).
