2020-09-26 HAMBURG IN THE EVENING

My favorite activity in Hamburg, walking through the Speicherstadt. The brick buildings are so pleasant to watch, combined with the sinking sun and the lights on the street.

2020-09-22 ROUGH SEA IN SYLT

The concrete barriers create the necessary resistance against the stormy North Sea. This scene results in an excellent photo motif. The northern lights, the surf, and the fine beach are a perfect symbiosis on Sylt’s island.

2020-09-14  BRICK BUILDINGS IN HAMBURG

The brick buildings are one of my favorites in Hamburg. I like the straight forward structures and the thousands of bricks that ensure a unique appearance. The picture was shot from the Elbphilharmonie to bring the Speicherstadt in perspective.

2020-09-12  THE HARBOR IN HAMBURG

For exploring the harbor in Hamburg, I would start in St. Pauli. There you have some Fisch-Restaurants and the authentic flair which makes Hamburg. Men are sitting with beer and fish rolls, watching the bustle of ships and boats.

2020-09-10  THE NEW ITALY

Are you looking at Cinque Terre? This Italy is not real; it is one part of the Italian exhibition in the Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg. It is an extravaganza for a modeling freak, half of the world is built already. You can see hundreds of trains, buildings, and mountains all in miniature format.

2019-05-28 BUSINESS PARK IN MUNICH

The evening has come, the businessmen are about to pack their things. Some are still resting and sealing the last stores before the journey home is started. Then soon the lights go out too.

2019-04-26 THE WHITE HALL AT THE LEICA WORLD WETZLAR

After entering the Leica World building you arrive in a white hall. Around the corner on the left are world famous Leica photos digitized with illuminated background. In the middle is an exhibition of historic cameras and at the end on the right side, the factory tour begins. You can look through four big windows to watch the process of building lenses and cameras in real time. Worth a visit if you are near Frankfurt or Cologne.

2019-04-18 25 HOURS HOTEL IN COLOGNE

The photo shows the lobby and the way to the elevators in 25 Hours Hotel in Cologne. I was there only one night, on a Friday where I visited the FIBO exhibition on Saturday. Cologne is a dynamic city, worth a visit.

2019-04-14 THE UR-LEICA IN WETZLAR

A photo of the Ur-Leica shot with a Leica in the Leica World in Wetzlar. A place I can recommend to every photo enthusiast. Full of history, great photos and four display windows where you can look live at the assemblies of cameras and lenses. The original Ur-Leica was designed and built by Oskar Barnack. There was a photo gallery with pictures originally shot by Oskar Barnack with his Ur-Leica. A memorable moment and exhibition.

2019-03-22 BAR IN MUNICH

Motel One is a new, stylish hotel chain in Europe, mostly located in Germany and Austria. They have mastered to offer excellent pricing for well-designed hotels at top locations. As I visited a Fujitsu event in Munich, I stayed for two nights in a Motel One. I had the chance to experience the bar on the high floor with a broad view over Munich, at the balcony I made some handheld shots of the city. I had two Averna with ice and some funny conversations with Swiss account managers from Fujitsu.
