I also recommend going down the long stairs. There is a magnificent panoramic view of the valleys and the Dead Sea. The rocky landscape of the mountain also comes into its own better.

2020-01-29 CLOUDY TEL AVIV
A massive band of clouds has laid over the port of Tel Aviv. In isolated cases, the sun still manages to breakthrough. The last rays will soon dry up, and the thunderstorm will begin.

2019-12-27 JERUSALEM AT CHRISTMAS
After leaving the old town, I saw that three-level building with Christmas motives in each of its windows. A nice add-on to the mixed culture- and religion city of Jerusalem.

2019-11-22 HOUSES IN JERUSALEM
I was on the famous observation deck, where you get a great overview of Jerusalem. I think I was there then more than an hour. Shooting photos and looking at the fascinating city. I was very impressed, seeing and feeling all the different religions.

Is Jerusalem the most exciting city in the world? I think so, walking around in the city, then you often believe that you are in a different world. The buildings, religions, history, and traffic merge for impressions you will never forget.

2019-10-19 MY KIDS IN JERUSALEM
This is one of the most iconic viewing points in the world. You can see the holy places of three religions, Christians, Muslims and Jews. I was there at dusk, watching the night go over Jerusalem and approach the lights in the city.

2019-08-24 SUN OVER THE DEAD SEA
The most fascinating sea in the world. This heavy, salty water with no vegetation, where often the surroundings are dangerous. Holes covered with salt crusts give the impression that it is a fortified ground. You break down at bodyweight immediately, and you fall meters deep into the field.

2019-07-26 BIRDS AT MASADA
At Masada, the only animals I could watch on the height were these lovely birds. For the photo sessions, I had my rather heavy, but excellent Sigma 35mm 1.4 lens with me. Since it is A-mount, I had the LA-EA3 adapter on my Sony A7R II. A great combination.

2019-07-02 COASTAL ROAD AT THE DEAD SEA
Driving the coast road along the Dead Sea is a highlight in Israel. When parking to enjoy the view, you should only take the prepared parking niches. Many signs warn against the devils towards the Dead Sea, where it can come through the encrusted ground to deep holes, which are not recognized when walking.

2019-06-15 COLUMNS IN MASADA
It paid off to go down the long walkways in Masada. I arrived at a plateau where I was able to admire these beautiful antique columns. What a tremendous achievement it must have been at the time to drag these stones to the top of the mountain.
