2021-02-13 HOTEL LOBBY IN VENICE

I think it was two years ago when I went to this hotel with my wife, Karin. The room prices were too high, so we only paid a visit to the bar. We took Averna with ice cubes and got wasabi nuts. Then we took a tour of the floors, combined with photoshoots. To my shame, I don’t remember the name of the hotel.

2021-02-11 THE TAGADA

A Tagada is an amusement ride for the die-hard. If you stand up, you have to balance against the vibrations. Avoid falling; otherwise, you are the victim of the Tagada, which leads to you are punished from the floor to the seats and back without a chance to get a grip again. This is one of my night photos in Savona, Italy.

2021-01-27 GENOA 2020

A photo of Genoa, in the main square with the fountain and the beginning of the wide streets that start from there. An art gallery, an old church, restaurants, and shopping mile, all concentrated in this quarter.

2020-12-28 THE NARROW STREETS IN GENOA

When my wife Karin and I arrived in Genoa, we chose a parking garage at the port. The way to the city center led through a maze of narrow streets—a good opportunity for me to photograph the undiscovered Genoa.

2020-12-19  TRE CIME DI LAVAREDO II

I photographed this landscape from a wide variety of angles. There are always new, lasting impressions. The natural elements of rocks, stones, snow, and clouds form here rarely seen formations like from another planet.

2020-12-14 THE DOME IN COMO

While walking through the old town of Como, one comes across the main square with the cathedral. A unique experience to look at this building, with the archways, the towers, and the fantastic lighting.

2020-12-10  MAIN SQUARE IN BOLZANO

In Bolzano, the main square was empty pretty quickly in the evening, unlike many other Italian cities. In South Tyrol, the temperatures are a little lower, and the Italian temperament does not have the southern flair there.

2020-12-08  TRE CIME DI LAVAREDO

Although I like to take on sporting challenges, I was happy that I could drive to the summit of the “Tre cime di Lavaredo” in Southern Tyrol. The pouring rain was a plausible excuse. Once at the top, the rain turned into a drizzle, and we could take the rock path. After half a kilometer, the splendor of the rocks was revealed.

2020-12-06 FAIRGROUND IN ITALY

Some things never change in Italy. The fairgrounds with carousel and autodrome are among the evening attractions. When I was a child and visited Italy with my parents, it is like that now—seen this year in Savona.

2020-11-28  THE BUILDINGS FOR BLACK AND WHITE

If you think in detail about what architecture has been put up in Italian cities, you will find little comparable anywhere in the world. Here is a photo from Genoa.
