2019-05-01 SUPERTREE MIRACLE IN SINGAPORE

I can’t remember where I had the opportunity to shoot the Supertrees from above. It was not the official sightseeing platform at the bridge of the Marina Bay Sands, maybe from the rooftop bar on the observation deck of the hotel, where I used my maximum tele with 70mm. Since tripod weren’t allowed, I had to switch to higher ISO with hand-held shooting. However, this illuminated miracle of the changing lights in harmony with music is a one-of-a-kind impression.

2019-04-27 THE BLUE BULL IN SINGAPORE

The Gardens by the Bay offer an illuminated and colorful extravaganza when walking there during the night. Beneath the world famous Supertrees with its spectacular light show, you can find many smaller exhibits, like this blue bull on the photo. I spent 5 hours there, from the beginning of the light show to the curfew. My wife was already tired and made herself comfortable on a park bench while I was still on a final photo tour.

2019-04-20 SINGAPORE THE OLD AND THE NEW

The photo shows the contrast between the older buildings and the new skyscrapers in Singapore. I don’t know where I shot this photo; I walked around so much. I think it was near a food hall, where I got excellent Chinese beef with chard and Teriyaki sauce accompanied by a green pineapple-lemongrass-ginger drink.

2018-12-16   AIRPORT ART IN SINGAPORE CHANGI

Even we were a bit late and were fastly going forward to the aperture gates; I stopped at that art installation. Those copper-metal drops changed direction in wavelike forms and positioned itself in new ways with every iteration. For the photo, I waited for the decisive moment. I intended to get as many drops as possible on the picture. Then I had to pack my camera back. My wife was a bit angry; she wouldn’t have waited any longer.

2018-10-18   GARDENS BY THE BAY NIGHT TOUR

After doing my photo shots of the Gardens by the Bay on the observation deck, I went down to visit the area. At the entry, there is a visitor’s map to get on overview of the sections with the Supertree Grove or Flower Dome. The constructors and designers attached great value to details, on the photo you can see a simple route between attractions with a stylish roof and colorful flowers.

2018-10-03   INSIDE MARINA BAY SANDS

That’s THE photo hotspot in Singapore, Marina Bay Sands, and the surroundings. The magnificent hotel for shooting inside and outside, a bridge to catch Singapore streets and skyline, the rooftop bar,  the vista point for the Gardens by the Bay and nearby shopping centers with rivers and big rounded roofs inside. I recommend to plan an afternoon and the evening in this area and be at the right time at the lightning orchestra of the Gardens.

2018-08-08   SHOPPING CENTER IN SINGAPORE

The shopping center has a water-canal inside, an architectural marvel with top-notch stores and excellent materials used for the interior accessories. I was standing on a bridge which connected to levels and placed my camera on the handrail to avoid camera shake. I can give you a tip, searching after a tripod replacement bears fruit often. Bars and pillars are perfect for this but are careful with concrete when placing a camera; it can scratch your camera ground.

2018-07-24   MARINA BAY SANDS FROM THE 6TH FLOOR

I was on the way to the lightning show at the Gardens of the Bay as I captured that scene from this spectacular hotel. I fetched my camera and started to shoot before I made the way out. If you want to visit the garden-show, ask at the reception for the right direction, you can be lost very fast in that big area.

2018-07-20   FLOWERS IN THE FLOWER DOME SINGAPORE

The flowers-wonder world in the Singapore Flower Dome. They have built flower-stations with vegetations from all time-zones and continents of the world. If you study each sign with the information from the different flowers and plants, you can stay there the whole day. I started a photo tour where I shot from the entrance to the exit all variations, angles, and colors.

2018-07-06   NIGHTLY STREET IN SINGAPORE

I do this in every city. Shooting streets in the night from a bridge, where the cars are approaching, and a dark sky tints the scenery. The different lights form the cars, street lamps, and industrial buildings, that’s urbanity, the atmosphere for electro-pop sound. Then I think of the German electronic band Kraftwerk with their song “Metropolis.”
