2017-10-23  WINE RESTAURANT IN VIENNA “HEURIGER”

The “Heuriger” is a wine restaurant mostly with local wines and a self-service buffet with home cooked food. Sometimes you can hear live music with accordions and violins. The interior is furnished in country style and looks quaintly. A hot spot for tourists and everyone who wants to share a glass of wine in a good temper.  🙂

2017-10-19  AFRICAN DRUMS

Walking around between the tents of the African Days in Vienna brought me to these guys, beating the bongo drums. The rhythm and the sound are fascinating, worth to stop and listen, and by the time, take some photos. Drumming started slow, then got faster and raised to some drumming frenzy.  🙂 😎

2017-10-15  MUSICIAN AT THE PHOTO WALK

The Trey Ratcliff Photo-Walk brought us into the park between the Natural History Museum and the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna. There was that street musician saxophone player. Within minutes he was the victim of a photographer mob where everyone tried to capture “street-musician-shots.” But he stayed pretty calm and continued with his performance.  🙂

2017-10-14  WELL AT THE VIENNA STATE OPERA

At the Vienna State Opera, there are two wells, one on the left and the other on the right side. I have chosen the left one, which represents joy, dance, and levity, to remain on the positive side. 🙂 The right one shows grief, love, and vengeance.

2017-10-11  SUN BREAKING THROUGH NIMBUS

Standing at a wine feast on the Vienna town hall place, drinking a glass of Chardonnay, suddenly the sky darkened and some grey, heavy clouds filled the whole area. The sun had to gather all its power, to break through again. At this moment I took my Sony A7S  and did that shot. 🙂

2017-09-27  SHOOTING THE TOWN HALL IN VIENNA

In the dusk, some minutes after the lighting of the city streets and buildings turned on; then it’s time to take out your gear and go for a photo tour. So did I with shooting the town hall (or Rathaus) in Vienna, which was built between 1872 and 1883 and gives an imposing example of Gothic architecture. It features five towers, and the Rathausmann (“town hall man“) statue was installed on the top and is one of the symbols of Vienna.

2017-09-24  ACTION AT THE PHOTO WALK

What happens at a photo walk? The organizer, in that case, Trey Ratcliff in Vienna, gives an introductory speech, then the whole crowd attends the walk to some sights or interesting photo places. At the picture point, Trey sets his tripod, offers some tips and his aims for taking that photo, and the whole bunch of fellow photographers starts shooting, trying to realize the tips they heard for their shootings. 🙂

2017-09-08  ART GALLERY ALBERTINA

In many art galleries taking photos is forbidden, but mostly only if you have cameras. 😯 Taking photos with smartphones are no problem; nobody says anything because nearly everyone does it. With a camera, the old thinking prevails, that you shoot photos with flash, which makes the color of the exhibited picture flat. However, I try my best, to make the photos without too much sensation, and of course without flash, which would be absurdly anyway, because of the light reflections of the paintings.

2017-09-05  THE BIG WAY UP TO GLORIETTE IN SCHÖNBRUNN

The view from the castle brings you the full splendor of the gardens and beauty of the Gloriette. On the ground of all the ways up lies gravel, which brings you gray, dusty shoes until you reach the peak of the hill. 🙂  I made this experience with black leather shoes, which I had on during the walk. Because I was not preparing for this visit; I even wore business clothes, this all happened by accident.

2017-09-03  AFRICAN DAYS

The African Days is an event on the Danube Island in Vienna, with food trucks, market stalls and two live concerts per day. I filmed the band “Black Prophet” on stage, it was entertaining, rhythmic music. I had my Sony A7R, Sony LA-EA4 adapter and the A-mount Sony Zeiss 135mm 1.8 lens with me, did handheld filming during the night with auto-focus, which I fixed with the focus-lock button on the lens.
