2018-12-07   GREEN PARK IN STOCKHOLM

Abba museum, Wasa museum, Vikings experience are many attractions of Sweden’s capital Stockholm. But often it depends, should you go in, is the attraction worth the price? Most parks are completely free and give enjoyment after a long walk on the hot tarmac of the city. I took a break on a bank. Then I looked at Tripadvisor to read the recommendations of the sights.

2018-12-06   AFTER CROSSING WITH A BIKE

We were a group of eight when crossing the Golden Gate Bridge with rental E-bikes. The bike lane is relatively narrow; you have to manage the driving while many bikes come from the opposite direction. Often you have to stop, let others ride, start again, pause, then stopping for sightseeing, get on the bikes and go further. It’s a great experience on that large bridge. After arriving on the viewing point, I had the great opportunity to take some photos, which have a bit of a different view of the bridge.

2018-12-05   CHURCH IN VILLAGE FALKENSTEIN

During an evening walk between the corn fields, I stopped for taking photos of the landscape. My brother and his girlfriend were patient and polite, they always waited for me, so I had enough time for my photos. On the way home, we went into a wine bar for some food and let the evening end in a quiet atmosphere.

2018-12-04   WALKING IN THE PARK IN LONDON

After visiting the Andreas Gursky exhibition in the Hayward Gallery in the Southpark Centre in London, we did a break in a nearby park and were watching the hustle and bustle around. An excellent opportunity for taking photos of the passengers and the parking area.

2018-12-03   THE HOUSE FRONTS IN COMO

Multistorey house fronts surround the old town of Como. On the wide alleys are snack stands and magazine kiosks. I sat down on one of the plastic chairs, ordered a diet coke with ice and was waiting for my wife.

2018-12-02   WINE TAVERN IN RETZ

We were a group of four when visiting the pumpkin celebrity in the wine-village Retz in northern Lower Austria. The whole village is decorated, dozens of market stands are lined on the streets, and a music band is playing. The typical wine taverns invite for a short break; they are called “Heuriger” in Austria. You get simple food, mostly bread with cheese or salty ham, pickles, and horseradish. The wine is mainly from the surrounding area, often in biological quality.

2018-12-01   COMBINING THE OLD WITH THE NEW

Often you see the combination with old and new styles in the interior design, walls with old bricks and cables, completed with brushed stainless steel, aluminum, and glass elements. For higher skyscrapers, you have to go to Toronto at least, to see a raw-brick building with a glass tower integrated.

2018-11-30   ALLEY OF PALM TREES IN SICILY

Since I was only one day in Sicily and we visited about five different villages via a touring bus, I can’t remember where I shot that photo of the palm tree-alley. I arrived in Sicily with a ferry from Malta, starting at 3 am and left with a ship to Malta at 8 pm. A day stuffed with impressions of this most southern island in Italy. A must see, partially a rough landscape, streets with serpentines, old stone buildings, and beautiful churches.

2018-11-29   PHOTO SHOOTING FROM THE WATER BUS

I was standing on the entry platform of the water bus. It was shaky, cold and gloomy, but it didn’t stop me from taking photos of the Canale Grande while driving on it. It is fascinating looking at the traffic, instead of a street there are water canals, instead of cars, there are boats and water buses. They all have their rules; traffic runs smoothly without any traffic jams.

2018-11-28   SUNSET WITH FOGGY MOUNTAINS

One of my last photos I shot from the observation tower Pyramidenkogel in Carinthia. Fog patches were hovering between the mountains; the sun was glowing in the background, the latest signs before the blue hour was over.
