2018-11-15   FOOD COURT IN BORDEAUX

The food court in Bordeaux, which I present on the photo above, offered high quality, exquisite food, and tastings. Combined with fine wine from the region was an unforgettable impression which I brought home from France. Sandwiches with excellent toppings like lobster and French cheese, ham and tasty oil and spices were an enjoyment. Outside we looked after a seat and had some red Bordeaux-wine.

2018-11-14   SHOPPING CENTER IN ISTANBUL

Inside in one of the big shopping centers of Istanbul. I used the time to shoot some photos, compared to my wife and my daughter who were eager to go from shop to shop and look around, try dresses and shoes, and so on. In the end, we all were happy; I had some photos and my family some bargains. With my Sony A7S I could shoot high ISO photos in good quality.

2018-11-13   COLOSSEUM IN ROME

After passing the long line with a queue of hundreds of people were queued, I was entering at the Online-ticket counter where only a handful of tourists were standing. Inside this historical, unique building I was surprised at what good shape the walls, pillars, and steps were. For a short time, you could imagine of the big events and fights which happened there during the Roman Empire.

2018-11-12   SCHAFBERG RACK RAILWAY

I decided with my wife Karin to walk down the Schafberg mountain near St. Wolfgang. From 1783 meters down to the valley, we chose a way directly on the railroad line. Soon we got into dangerous terrain, because the line got so small, that there was nearly no escape from up-and down-coming trains. As you can see in the photo, we hid between to rocks. The walk got more and more risky on the narrow tracks, then we took a turn left and walked down between cow pastures.

2018-11-11   SUNSET IN SAINT-TROPEZ

The photo shows my first impression of the famous Quai Suffren in Saint-Tropez. After getting a parking lot only 200 meters away, which is big luck, my wife Karin and I took the way to the pier. It lives up to its reputation, fancy bars and restaurants on the city-side, big yachts at the sea-side.

2018-11-10   ALL TIME OF THE WORLD

“All time of the world” is the motto for a statue, nothing to lose, sitting and watching at the passengers in Edinburgh. The illuminated Edinburgh Castle brings colors on the picture; a scene which I shot from Princes Street.

2018-11-09   ICM IN MUNICH

While visiting the Fujitsu Forum in Munich, I also used the time to shoot some photos. The International Congress Center is a top-notch modern building complex, well suited for significant events. It was a high-quality arrangement among others with presentations about blockchain and nex-gen flash storages.

2018-11-07   VLTAVA RIVER IN PRAGUE

The three European “sister-cities” Prague, Budapest and Vienna have much in common. The buildings and architecture look similar. Each city has its river flowing, Prague the Vltava, Budapest, and Vienna the Danube. Some centuries ago, they were all under the empire of the Habsburger.

2018-11-05   ON A SUNDAY AFTERNOON

Some friends, my brother and his girlfriend, my wife Karin and I visited the Castle Grafenegg in Lower Austria. For most of them, it was a typical Sunday afternoon trip. For a photographer it’s a journey, to take photos, find the best compositions and try to catch some pictures, which you can add to your photo collection. Most of the time, you are a bit behind the group, they don’t have the patience for waiting until you have taken your shots. 🙂

2018-11-04   GOING OUT OF THE RAILWAY STATION IN MILAN

After the 40-minute drive with the airport express train, I entered the railway station Milano Centrale. Sprawling halls with arcs and pillars, the ravages of time are visible, but all in all, an excellent experience for a railway station.
